A buyer, who I do not trust, has shipped back an item & the refund is requested. Now he is asking for a refund before I receive my parcel because he doesn't want to have to track the shipment. LOL! His feedback score is 1 & that is from me. He did nothing but complain about the item's condition & the packaging of said item. All false. I DO NOT trust that he sent back the same item. Especially now! Let's see if it is the second time someone tries to steal from me on here. Stay safe all. 🙂

Reply to buyer
Pursuant to eBay policy, refund will be issued in a timely manner upon receipt of returned item.

This really has nothing to do with trust. They are a complete stranger and if you were to trust them, that would be odd.
Simply tell them no. Be professional, but let them know that once you get the item back and have inspected it, you will issue the appropriate refund.
I wouldn't comply to this request even for a repeat customer unless it was one I've had for quite a while. I did that once a long time ago and it worked out fine, but not for something like this. No way.

Every single time i have this happen its a scam. You are probably getting back air or a rock. I refund after i receive my item back. I file charges when i do not.

That would be a hard no. I'd reply as others have stated above that his refund will be processed as soon as the package is received but would so be tempted to ask him if he gets his money back from Macy's before actually going in to return the item.

He is already trying to make excuses. "If the package doesn't arrive; gets lost or is damaged, you still have to refund." lol I should ask him, "What if the package contains something other that what you purchased from me?" 🙂 Stay safe.

Don't do that as you would be asking for trouble. Just politely let him know that when the package arrives you will gladly refund. Did he open a case ?

I would not be getting into a back and forth with the buyer. Simply state that you will process it per the rules and guidelines of Ebay, leave it at that.

Complain all you want, but to sell an item in "near mint unless otherwise described" for a Good+ (at best) record and a book/box in "excellent" that was literally falling apart is appalling.
Attached are four pictures from what I sent to you. I actually video-taped opening the box, as you shipped the item in horrible packaging. Understood, it isn't easy to find the right packaging for an LP box set. But, when I sell an LP box set, I either get the right box or build one - not slap together pieces of cardboard and hope for the best.
Don't assume that a new ID = new to eBay. I set up a buying account to be separate from selling account. I didn't ask for the item for free, or some huge discount. Straight away, after opening the box and documenting the condition, I asked for a refund. I went into some detail in my explanation. The pictures and video evidence are pretty clear - major SNAD item.

Perhaps a certain buyer is annoyed that he's the one that has to remind the seller that it is her responsibility to take care of return postage for a SNAD item. Perhaps the buyer is annoyed that he's the one tracking the return shipment, even alerting seller that only updates are showing on the USPS site, not the Canada Post site. Perhaps the buyer is also a seller, and has some experience with significant delays going through Chicago. Perhaps the buyer loathes sellers that significantly miss the mark on record grading (to the point that I think that they are either dishonest or are just guessing about a condition). Perhaps the buyer is annoyed that he spent $200 on an item that was worth $75, at best. If you'd like the video of the packaging up of the return, just let me know.

Sorry but, when dealing with a buyer with (1) feedback, would you not be suspicious when you add in the wording you have been using in your messages? There won't be any issue with a refund when I get back what I sent to you. Your opinions on the condition are your opinions & you are entitled. I don't expect anyone to keep something they are unhappy with. I never said the box was excellent & the book is fine; just not 'mint.' I played the record & it had quality sound. A couple of hairlines means nothing. The packaging is also your opinion. I have been selling online for 20 years & I worked at a job for 8 years where most of it involved shipping mail. You have been my only complaint regarding this. All will be settled when the parcel arrives. Stay safe. 🙂

??? Perhaps the seller is well aware they have to pay the return postage & send you the money quickly without any complaint. Perhaps the seller has enough common sense to know that when shipping an item from the US, it is being sent by USPS & not Canada's postal system; especially when USPS costs almost 3X as much as CP does. Perhaps the seller knows USPS is incredibly slow right now because he gets several emails regarding delayed mail. Perhaps the seller knew the item was not mint therefore he accepted an offer than was about 2 1/2x less than the asking price. No video proof required.

It's amazing that you still have the "All items are in NRMT-MT condition or better unless otherwise described.," in your listings. You were berated about that months ago here, but obviously you see nothing wrong with it.

My item as described rating is 5 stars. 'Nuff said.
