Request to remove negative feedback

I placed a request to remove negative feedback on 11-24 based on the buyer wanted a refund but they never initiated a  return/refund request through eBay and it still shows Pending review. It said they would respond within 24hrs but I still have not heard anything.

I'd contact facebook/ebay and see of they can help.  The reps there are very responsive and have assisted me in the past.

I do not see anything in the feedback that qualifies it for removal under eBay policy.

The buyer never filed a request for return/ refund request following eBay's policies and after the window of request lapsed they requested me to refund them directly. So not following eBay policies and then leaving negative feedback doesn't suffice the request to have the negative removed.

While I would continue to try and get that removed, I don't think a buyer admitting to being a tool and waiting too long to return will make you look bad. If the return window is closed, you don't have to refund, then it's up to you.

 

I'd still try to get that removed though, I'm just saying that it's making the buyer look like a fool and doesn't reflect on you.

I don't necessarily agree.

The negative feedback appears to be a reaction to the inability to process a return due to the closure of the return window. According to eBay's Feedback Policy, feedback is generally considered valid if it reflects the buyer's genuine experience, even if it is negative. However, eBay may remove feedback in certain situations, such as:

  • Buyer-Related Transaction Issues: eBay removes neutral or negative feedback when the buyer is raising an issue that was correctly disclosed in the listing.

In this case, eBay automatically provides a clearly stated return policy and return window in the listing, and the buyer's negative feedback is solely based on their dissatisfaction with this policy, it may be considered for removal. This is because the feedback pertains to a policy that was properly disclosed upfront.
