Hi,
Before making any major investment, I listed a few products from different categories and promoted them using Priority Smart Campaigns, following eBay's suggested daily budgets ($26, $40, and $59 for different products). Surprisingly, the priority campaigns significantly boosted visibility—within just one hour, I received over 100 views. However, there were no sales.
Even though my prices are competitive (I’ve reduced my profit margin to 20%), I still haven’t seen any conversions. This is part of my initial testing phase, and I’m concerned about continuing for a full month, as it could result in a substantial loss.
Could you please advise why I might be getting views but no sales? What improvements can I make to start converting those views into purchases?
For this test, I focused on listings in the sex toys and shoes categories.
Thank you

Some of those could be from other sellers doing research on prices. Could also be that one of your categories is an adult item ( buyers don't automatically see the actual pic of your item, only the adult item placeholder and have to prove their age) This peeks people's curiosity!
Those priority campaigns can get really pricey and obliterate your profits. You pay per click even before selling the item. The other type of promoted listing only charges you a percentage AFTER you sell the item. You choose that percentage-- eBay usually suggests some ridiculously high percentage. You can play around with it to see where you fall when search is based on "Best Match". This is the default unless the buyer changes that search filter to lowest price or newly listed.

High views and no sales usually means people are not interested in the item at the price you are selling it for.

Since you aren't posting with the account that you have the listings under, it is very hard to tell what the reason might be. Simply not near enough info.

What other information you required?

Seeing your listings would be very important to the concerns you have.

The listings are out there – this is the issue where a seller has changed the store name and the listings don’t show up if clicking from these boards. You have to replace the name in the search address to USA DashThe listings are out there – this is the issue where a seller has changed the store name and the listings don’t show up if clicking from these boards. Biggest issue is that you are definitely not price competitive. I just looked at the shoes – I didn’t really feel like searching for butt plugs to see what the comps are. Look through other items – your pricing is not good. Even your buy one get one puts me at a higher price on something like your mouse traps. Sure, you’ll find more expensive, but I doubt that those are selling.
it might be the buyers are going to look at your feedback. It isn’t good.

Thank you
my guess would be click bots.

If that is the case, then that applies to millions of listings, because no one ever wants to pay an asking price here, People want many things they just don't want to pay the price.

Do you know if this is going to be fixed or is this the new normal? I would at least like to see the feedback without jumping through extra hoops.
OP --- Have you tried selling without using the promotions? I definitely wouldn't jump in to useing that type of promotion, at least use the one where you set the percentage and pay if it sells.

You're just drop shipping the same stuff every other drop shipper has. Mostly cheap made in China products that can be found locally for less. People aren't stupid. You're in New Zealand but put USA in your store name. That's disrespectful.

Unfortunately, I believe that you are yet another victim of an erroneous perception that American buyers will buy anything for any price. Just how long do you think you can sustain a 20% net margin with no sales?

It's been brought up, but I haven't heard any confirmation on if and when it will be fixed, sadly.

It may be related to the name change and likely fixes itself eventually.
