Hello eBay Community,
I am requesting help from the community due to a brain injury I have which makes it VERY difficult to understand "legalese" in regards to the fine print surrounding the eBay promotional offer of receiving 2 months of Anchor store subscription for the price I am paying for my Premium subscription which is $59.95. I would sign up for the Anchor offer and then after the 2 month promotional period, I would pay the regular rate of $299.95 per month.
I contacted eBay via email, due to the closure of phone support due to the virus, and received the email below because I could not understand their formula for calculating termination fees if I decided to end my Anchor subscription. I had a few more questions for them to gain further clarity, due to my injury, but have not heard back from them as yet. The promotioinal period ends this evening at 11:59:59 PST so I hope to hear from the community so I can confidently make my decision by knowing all the facts and finer details. I will be increasing my invenotry levels and this opportunity looks pretty good for what i have in mind, but I just want to be sure.
FROM EBAY:
Hi Bruce ,
Thanks for contacting eBay back. I understand that you would like to know what this " “the product of remaining months left in the subscription” means and your early termination fee.
The early termination fee rates are calculated by dividing by 3 the product of remaining months left in the subscription and applicable monthly subscription fee [(months * monthly fee) / 3] or 6 months multiplied by 59.95 divide by 3 so your termination fee would be $119.
I am glad I am able to help you with your concern today.
Thank you for choosing eBay. We value your business. Have a great day!
Best regards,
Gelie Grace S.

The * means multiply and the / means divide. They were just trying to show you the math formula for how they calculate the amount of the early termination fee. You can also see a chart with the early termination fees section 4 of the user agreement ( see link below) agreement. According to the agreement, there is no penalty fee when you upgrade a subscription (such as going from Premium TO Anchor).

If I subscribe for 4 months and then decide to cancel your equation would look like this:
8 months remaining in my subscription multiplied by $299.95 equals $2,399.60
$2,399.60 divided by 3 equals $799.86
My termination fee would be $799.86
Is this correct?
Thank you!
