I never had a negative feedback left until now. I was selling a item and for the 1st time it said payment on hold. I was not willing to send a item before Christmas and wait for the buyer to release funds and then wait for ebay to pay me. I apologized to the buyer and just c Angeles the transaction because something did not feel right to me. Weeks later she leaves negative feedback that this seller is a rude person? All I did was cancel the order. Does anyone know why feedback can be left for a transaction that did not occur? I will not loose sleep over this though I think it is unfair that after 400 positive listing someone leaves a negative for a listing that never was sold. Any help I would appreciate it. Thanks

Because ebay had your money not the buyer, and your cancellation was not legit.
They pay, you ship.
The end.
I would have begged you too.

you have 64 feedbacks as a "seller"
62 of them are over 1 year old.
And the other 2 are negative!

Are you even reading the replies you're getting?
Your reply to the negative feedbacks is NOT TRUE!! The payment from the buyer DID clear.

Yeah aware it it is on auto pilot sorta" - the seller still had to cancel the order (aka booking). Here is eBay's Unpaid Item Policy. Read it when it was announced - never was an issue when I sold 'cause I opted into to the Immediate Payment Required on my listed 100% fixed price. - now it is not a problem either, stopped selling on eBay on Oct 25, 2021 and don't sell on any other venue - personal reasons. https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/payment-policies/unpaid-item-policy?id=4271&st=12&pos=1&query=Unp...
Believe that the announcement was made on May 6, 2021 - 8 months+ a few days ago - https://community.ebay.com/t5/Announcements/New-cancel-function-for-unpaid-items/ba-p/31848079

BTW, you are violating eBay policy by listing two auctions for essentially the same item.
You're allowed to run duplicate auctions. But the OP didn't list them as auctions. You can't have duplicate fixed price listings.

if you used any reason for cancelling the order OTHER than buyers request,,,they can leave a feedback. I always used buyers request regardless of the reason.....for that reason. also,,,,if you didn't cancel at all, nothing would have happened, if their payment had not cleared, don't ship until it does, just leave ourtstanding forever if need be. also, a negative feedback doesn't really mean a hill of beans,,,do a reply to one you received and left, bidders will read and figure it out.

The buyer paid. The payment cleared. This has been explained repeatedly. The OP failed to do their part.

@jws1217 wrote:Thanks for your help. I will loose no sleep over trying to do the right thing anymore. 400 plus positive transactions and I am suppose to wait for payment that may or may not come? Ebay had a good thing at one point though that does not seem to be the case anymore.
You didn't do the right thing, you did the wrong thing. The funds are guaranteed to show up, there's no "may or may not" about it. Plus, the buyer isn't holding the funds, ebay is.

@jws1217 wrote:Thanks for your reply. I still don't understand the hold on funds asI just sold the same steins last year. Yes I do agree I do not do much with Ebay anymore and this may be a reason why. Who would want to wait any amount of time in hope a buyer you do not know will release funds? I never has a issue ever shipping any item as I always ship using a tracking number. And I honestly do not know the difference in 2021 Bier or beer in a listing? Thanks for trying to explain though I will just accept her feedback and move on in life. Thanks
It's NOT the buyer releasing the funds, it is eBay. The buyer paid and you cancelled because you didn't understand that as a new seller that EBAY holds the payment because they are waiting for you to send item out.
The negs were well justified.

I'm an experienced seller and I can get paid daily if I choose...but I prefer once a week

Buyer paid and you did not ship because funds was on hold, am i right ? When new to selling ebay holds fund for security purposes. There is no possibility to leave feedback if there is no sale.

That doesn't say much for your integrity!
If you cancel and lie about the reason, the buyer can report you and ebay will take action against you.

As a participant on the discussion boards, it's really important for people answering questions to be confident they're giving the latest information. If one read about new policies but doesn't remember them, perhaps it would be best not to reply with misinformation about those policies. Posting misinformation is not helpful to the OP or anyone else reading the thread.
I'm not sure why you provided me with a link regarding the policy. I had already provided you with a link in my original post to you.
This change in procedure for unpaid transactions was announced in the 2021 Spring Seller Update on March 3, 2021--ten months ago, or, as I stated it in my post, "almost a year ago."

Are you aware that leaving anything other than a positive comment for the buyer is (another) "problem" for you?
