Remember our excitement with this auction?

We were all cheering on our fellow ebayer as his auction on his 2 Pyrex bowls became hit. I see here that it is number 1 on this article.

Here's a picture of the bowls in the article

We were thrilled for him, watched his auction, rooted for it to go up and held our breath thru the shipping process!

Now, guess what, if you view the article I could be next..

The second bowl they feature I have in my cupboard tucked away for years! I always knew it was special.

Any good Pyrex stories of recent you care to share?

Wow -- how exciting!

Regardless of whether you plan to list it, it's time to implement protective measures -- maybe bubble wrap it under lock and key? 😂

Re: Remember our excitement with this auction?

Thanks for the article.  How exciting you have one of the "special" pieces.  I'd be listing that puppy if it were me, unless it has sentimental value.   It's really pretty, though, so I bet you hate to part with it.

Did anyone ever hear if the sunflower bowls arrived safely?

In the history of shipping glass bowls, bubble wrap has never helped unless it was wrapped around the bowl 137 times.

Re: Remember our excitement with this auction?

Yes, I have a good Pyrex story.

After we finished the brownies that I made this week I was washing the dish and noted that it was Pyrex😁

Well, maybe not that great a story. The brownies are all gone☹️

ETA: on the flip side. I have more brownie mix, and eggs were on sale last week. (almost down to regular price)

You know . . . .  we have been "talking" on the forums for well over a year . . .

Just send the bowl to me for safe keeping.  🙄 😉

Fern, I believe there is a good fb that supports this bowl purchase so I'm assuming yes it arrived safely.

Re: Remember our excitement with this auction?

The only Pyrex story I have is that I don't have any Pyrex, either to use or to sell.

Garage sale season is around the corner.  I can always hope.

There is a lady here in town who, when she goes to garage sales, she always asks the people if they have any old Pyrex dishes.  She said it's surprising how many times they will go in the house and bring out some.  But never any "good" ones.   So she says.

@pickapaper

I've been collecting and selling it for years now. Some patterns I just have to twist my arm and sell it, mourn later.

One piece I've never found in the wild is the atomic eye with the cradle or the one our featured seller had, never seen it.

Funny, I do have my grandmother's original primary refrigerator dish set ( thank goodness she never owned a dishwasher) it still looks new, musta been that ivory soap she used!

Re: Remember our excitement with this auction?

I was watching that auction.

I went to Goodwill and saw nothing but junk...LOL

I saw that it sold very high.

Do we know buyer paid and everything went smooth?
