Hi! I'm fairly new to Ebay and forgot to add on my listing I do not ship internationally. Someone bid on the item and paid immediately. My question is what is the process to refund exactly what they paid? Do I wait until the payment deposits in my account, do I cancel the order, refund the order or what is the process for this situation? I feel like I am going to end up losing money because of Ebay fees like final value and other fees? Thank you for your help.

What international program did you have on your listing ?
If it's EIS, then you ship domestically.
You can cancel with reason with issue with buyers address.
However, if you advertised to their market on the listing then it can come back to bite you.
Losing money isn't a valid cancel reason when you make a mistake.

Hi @cvrpj
It was the Monster High listing, sold today. That listing states that you do ship internationally, with no country exclusions.
It is not enough to simply state one does not ship internationally. Sellers must also set up their Shipping Preferences with all locations outside of the US placed on their country exclusion list. (But there is also the very recent EIS program to contend with.)
Like @robbie31415 advised in his post, eBay has opted most sellers into its new international shipping program. If you did not opt out, then you would send the package to a domestic hub where eBay takes over responsibility of getting the item to its international destination.
Meanwhile, if you want to cancel the transaction and refund the buyer, you need to know a couple of important factors about doing so. But eBay’s policy page about refunds is included in the link below with all the info you need to know on how to accomplish that. But first read on.
eBay considers seller-initiated cancellations as an unwelcome erosion of the buying experience on eBay. As a result, canceling a sale without a buyer’s request can cause a defect to be placed on the seller’s account. Defects can damage a seller’s performance standing on eBay, potentially triggering higher Final Value fees and lowered placement in Search results. Below is the policy link for this with additional information on how to handle.
