I do appreciate the free listings, but I am nervous about deferring fees because if there is a decline in sales, or the ability to get inventory it will only make things worse. Next month I will owe half this month and all of next month. I feel it would be more helpful for me to be able to stay current with my bills, but have them reduce fees instead of deferring our bills. Please drop our final value fees, it will go a lot farther in helping your sellers. It seems that a 10% fee by ebay is very high considering the fact we have to work that much harder to get buyers. eBay is still making the same money it is just been deferred, where we are reducing our prices to get more business. I have been on eBay since 2001.

I can understand needing help with listing fees due to low sales. However final value fees imply sales. If someone is still selling why does it make sense for them to pay lower fees?

Do you pay taxes on your income yearly ? If so water under the bridge

There never will be any kind of agreement on anything eBay does.
Perhaps you are correct - I won't argue your point. Except for one thing: there is a difference between doing everything for one preferred group of sellers - and literally nothing, for all other sellers. In that case (as is demonstrated by the current treatment of store owners who get 50.000 free listings, vs. non-store owners who get zero free listings) one cannot use your argument of "it is never enough what eBay does." Zero means zero, whether you approach it mathematically, philosophically, or without any empathy.

Why? Are other similar sites doing this? I haven't seen anything on it. Could be happening, but I sell on other sites and while one is offering to extend protections on seller stats similar to what Ebay is doing. Beyond that they aren't offering anything that I'm aware of.
I don't understand why it is Ebay's responsibility to extend what you are asking for?

President Trump asked employers to continue to pay their employees even though they are not working. eBay could cut us a little break on final auction fees if they wanted to for 60 days or so. Just my opinion. I do not feel entitled to a break but it would be nice if they could toss us a bone every now and then, just sayin......

eBay has about 12,000 employees, are you an eBay employee?
All I want from eBay is for them to keep the doors open.

Well that could be part of the problem. Sellers are not "employees" of Ebay. I'm not an "employee" of Ebay. Nor are you. So you are trying to apply something to them that isn't at all what the President was talking about.
Ebay is your VENDOR. You pay them for services like you do your light bill, phone bill, garbage bill ect. Are any of them giving you free services?

Of course they are! USPS appreciates my business, they are giving me free shipping!
I figured everyone was getting this deal......No?

Had eBay given ALL sellers(store sellers and non-store sellers) exactly same concessions including the 50,000 free listings, store owners would still be protesting and would be all over that because they are subscribers and pay for being store owners and still feel entitled to more as shown by the pleas to have fees discounted/waived... so yes indeed the argument of "it is never enough what eBay does." would still hold true.
No matter what eBay does it will never satisfy everyone...

Reduce final value fees instead of deferring them
An eBay seller has a number of costs. Let's look at them:
Inventory acquisition - suppliers are not reducing prices for eBay sellers.
Inventory storage - storage facilities, utilities and mortgage companies are not reducing costs for eBay sellers.
Gas and vehicle - car companies, repair shops and gas stations are not reducing prices for eBay sellers.
Packing - the prices for tape, bubble wrap and boxes are not being reduced for eBay sellers.
Postage - USPS, UPS and Fedex are not reducing shipping costs for eBay sellers.
So why is it up to eBay to bail eBay sellers out?
Are you, as an eBay seller, reducing the prices on your listings to help others resell your items at a profit?

Ebay is not doing us a favor at all. It is very disheartening and deceptive. They are coming across like they are doing us a great favor when they are not giving up anything. How would a deferred payment help us? It adds much more of a burden on us to know that not only are our sales down but we will still have to meet the demand of our high cost monthly fee down the road. This is not helpful. Just more stressful. They should have a "giving" heart during this time. Where are they "giving"? They are big enough to bring the cost down. Why didn't they opt to do that instead? I've been a seller for many years as well. Unfortunately, this has been a common practice. Sellers are not excited about this.
I agree - in fact, I think the thought behind it may well be to reduce the number of sellers who might quit by saying, 'well, you don't have to pay this month, and maybe next. But, after that all will be owed and due.'
