I no longer sell outside of the U.S.A., But i am curious if these tariffs need to be in place for sellers here?, In other words if you are selling an item going to France for instance & they tariff us 20%, do you have to up your price 20% to cover the tariff?, If that is the case, those sales will cease to exist.

I'm not sure how anyone knows how to deal with this since it changes almost daily. Will this impact the EIS program? Chaos and business don't mix well.

meme,
No, that's not how it works.
If you source from France, and the US has a tariff on those goods, you will pay the tariff for the goods you are buying from France to sell here. You will then probably raise your selling price here to make up for the tariff cost (or, you will eat it, and your margins will decline.)
If you are selling to France, and France has a tariff on your product, your French buyer will pay the tariff. You will NOT want to increase your item price, because your buyer will already be paying more when he pays the tariff.

Hopefully ebay will post a notice, I use EIS and if they add any tariff's to my fees, I'll drop it. No way to increase price for EIS buyers and don't want to add for my USA buyers. Not like I sell alot international anyway.

As to the reciprocal tariff order, I haven't looked at this very closely, but I believe it authorizes the US to basically go **bleep** for tat on tariffs imposed by other countries against our imports. So, if France has a 10% tariff on US made flapperdoodles, we will impose a 10% tariff on French made flapperdoodles. Like I said, I haven't had time to look at this closely. I gather, but could be wrong, that we haven't actually enacted those tariffs just yet...I think the Order is more of a "Maybe you other countries better get rid of those tariffs, because if you don't, we're going to do tariff right back at you"

the tariffs we impose on other countries are paid for when a seller in that country ships to the buyer in the US, with the US buyer here paying the tariff. The buyer here , if he is a reseller, will increase his price to sell the item within the US, so that his tariff cost is covered.
So, the tariffs we are imposing do NOT directly impact a US seller's sale to a foreign country. However, if that country has a tariff on our items, and we are selling to that country, then that country's buyer will be paying the tariff they impose on our products. Tariffs existed before all this started, and , if a product we sell into France was under a French tariff: ebay's EIS fees were NOT calculated based on the additional tariff amount....the fee is calculated the same as a domestic sale: item price, any sales tax, and domestic shipping (to the EIS Hub in the US)
If that's wrong, someone will undoubtedly correct me.

Why would you be concerned about something that you admit will not affect your eBay sales? People are overthinking this tariff stuff.

You don't pay the tariff...the person receiving the item pays. So when "other countries" put tariffs on America we get stuck paying higher prices.

"I'm not sure how anyone knows how to deal with this since it changes almost daily."
I am pretty sure that even The One who is proposing/implementing these tariffs has no idea of what tariffs are or how tariffs work or whether to keep a de minimis exception.

@caldreamer " So when "other countries" put tariffs on America we get stuck paying higher prices."
No, when other countries put a tariff on American goods, the buyers in THAT country end up paying higher prices on the American goods imported into their country.
When WE put a tariff on their goods, American buyers end up paying a higher price for their goods imported into our country.
