Received Return request saying 'item not working' on New item with warranty

Hi Guys,

I sold new item that was never opened, in original package and moreover it comes with manufacturer warranty and I received return request. Buyer clams it doesn't work, which is hard to believe since it was brand new and never opened.

There's slight chance the product he/she bought is incompatible with their hardware (its hardware part), but even so that shouldn't be a ground for return.

My listing says 'returns not accepted'.

But there's no even such option to decline the return request!

I replied to buyer, but ebay gives few days to respond to return request, and my reply doesn't seem to count as respond.

What will happen if I don't take any action besides replying to buyer?

Thanks!

stridder you just have to be mellow and wait until item arrives back. Some folks just post to push someones button getting a poster upset is kind of a victory for them. Just relax wait on the items return and then go from there....

The eBay MBG trumps your "returns not accepted" policy when it comes to SNAD disputes.  You are required to pay for the return shipping of the item as well as refunding in full upon its return.

Failure to live up to your obligations under the MBG will undoubtedly earn you a defect.

With regard to the manufacture's warranty, they are usually not transferable from the original purchaser to someone else.  Unless you are an authorized dealer and not the original purchaser, it wouldn't matter if the item was still in its original packaging or not, the warranty is probably void.  You need to make sure that any manufacture's warranty is transferable before listing an item as having one.
