Markdown Manager Question

I recently started using Markdown Manager to markdown older inventory in our store by 15% off.  I figured that since our promotion was not showing up at the top and rarely used, I'd give MM a try.  (hadn't needed to try it in years!)

Upon doing manual relists, I skip the items on markdown so I can put them back on markdown after they are relisted.  I am seeing that even though those items are not manually relisted, they are not getting added to the sale.  I thought that since they are GTC listings, they would be immediately added since eBay updated the new rule.  Forgive me if someone addressed this already as I have a rather bad headache and cannot read through every post on the subject at the moment!

Thanks!

Markdown Manager Question

This year ebay has made so many convoluted changes to all things related to Promotions Manager it's hard to keep track of all the new rules. The banner being moved from the top and the lack of showing the promtion sale in the search has bascially killed my business. I'm not sure if this information will help you or not but maybe this is the issue for you...This is a quote from their FAQ page:

"How do I create markdown sale events?
You can create a markdown sale event of up to 45 days in duration with Promotions Manager. You must list your item for 14 calendar days at the same price before you can create a markdown sale event. In addition, the item must have not been included in another Sale event or markdown promotion within the past 14 days."

Also to quote them "If you changed the price of an item as part of a sale, you'll need to wait 14 days before including it as part of a new sale."

As I understand it, if the sale ended, GTC doesn't matter nor does manually relisting. You have to wait 14 days for them to show up. It worked that way for me.

This is a link that explains all about it if you care to explore more when your head stops hurting...however, after reading it you may end up with a worse headache again!

Markdown Manager Question

You're right they did say that if an item was gtc and the regular price hadn't been changed recently that the 14 days shouldn't apply.  I don't recall though if anyone has commented that it does or does not work that way now.

Markdown Manager Question

As I understand it..........all listings have a 14 day waiting period when first listed OR when the price is changed.....  Relistings also have to wait the 14 days EXCEPT GTC........  The GTC items will remain on sale during the max 45 (I think) days of the sale.  Obviously, with the 14 day stricture......other listings can only be on sale for a max of 16 days of a month IF the sale was started on the lst eligible day, because the 30 days would end prior to the 45 sale max.

You're welcome.  Yes, I now see that Markdown Manager Update announcement on July 4th you mentioned.  Apparently the system wasn't fully updated when I tried to run a sale on all GTC items again last month before the 14 days were up because it didn't work for me.  And I never change my base price.  Of course, they said all the glitches were fixed in Promotions Manager with the banners and all, but they aren't.  For a few weeks they were showing at the top of the listing again for me and now they have disappeared again.  And still nothing about the Buy 4 save 15% showing in the search.
