This article is from Dec 26 and a search has determined it has not been discussed.
Perhaps this ties in with Devin Wenig's statement that he wants to get as far away from Amazon as he can?

High-end timepieces, supercars and collectible sports memorabilia among 2018 most expensive sales on eBay.
You know the saying “there’s something for everyone?” Well, that rings true for even the most high-end of shoppers, even when that perfect gift comes with a over-the-top price tag. In 2018, some of the highest ticket items sold on eBay rang up between $145k to more than $3 million. These top item investments ranged everything from high-end timepieces to supercars. And, some of the super pricey purchases include fine jewelry, automobiles, collectible sports memorabilia, and even a helicopter!
But 2018’s highest-priced transaction was actually for good: eBay’s annual Power Lunch with Warren Buffett benefitting GLIDE, a charity with the mission of breaking the cycles of poverty and marginalization. This year’s exclusive lunch with the billionaire fetched $3.3M.
Hungry for more? Here’s a snapshot of some of 2018’s most expensive and remarkable purchases on eBay.
20 Most Expensive Purchases of 2018:

Most Expensive Handbags of 2018

Interesting, thanks for posting the list. The ones most interesting to me would be the watches and also the prices of some of the comics. I've had a few decent scores on watches, but nothing ever close to the home run prices like what's on that list.
I wonder if anyone keeps track of the top 20 least expensive purchases, like if something weighing 200 pounds with free shipping that sold for 1 cent and had to be shipped cross country. Net profit: minus $525. I'd hate to be on that list!

Interesting. I'm not sure why you checked that but I'm sorry as that never came up in a Board search for this exact title. I don't know if you checked that thread, but I did and there was only one response. I didn't see the thread on that date or thereafter so perhaps it had already disappeared. Perhaps people didn't want to click on the link, I have found that to be true at times.
Thank you for your observation.

I was going to say the same thing. I saw the original post a week ago but didn't reply because it's the same kind of stuff on the list every year - lunch with Warren Buffett, cars, baseball cards, Birkin bags, etc.

I think you just missed it. Maybe next year?

I recognized the subject/article, too.
That's okay. It happens. You could self-report the duplicate thread if you wanted to, I believe, using the "Report Inappropriate Content" link at the three dots/Options link at the top right-hand corner of your post. It's your prerogative to do so.

You're welcome, I'm glad you found it interesting. The prices are phenomenal, to be sure! Very expensive watches and comic books. Maybe one of your items will hit that list for this year. That would be great.

I have some autographed football cards from the late 80's.
I wonder if they're worth anything???
I would have to get them certified, but if they're worth a lot, I could do that lol
I hope your cards are worth something, and I am glad you were inspired by this article.

I find it really hard to believe that I didn't make it onto that list.
How much do you cost?

Gee, it's too bad I don't trust ebay to list my 18k gold w/lapis face, Roy King 1970's watch. Sounds like watches did fairly well.
Were there any notes about whether the sales were completed - without problem(s) or returns?
