This article is from Dec 26 and a search has determined it has not been discussed.
Perhaps this ties in with Devin Wenig's statement that he wants to get as far away from Amazon as he can?
Revealing eBay’s 20 Most Expensive Purchases of 2018

High-end timepieces, supercars and collectible sports memorabilia among 2018 most expensive sales on eBay.
You know the saying “there’s something for everyone?” Well, that rings true for even the most high-end of shoppers, even when that perfect gift comes with a over-the-top price tag. In 2018, some of the highest ticket items sold on eBay rang up between $145k to more than $3 million. These top item investments ranged everything from high-end timepieces to supercars. And, some of the super pricey purchases include fine jewelry, automobiles, collectible sports memorabilia, and even a helicopter!
But 2018’s highest-priced transaction was actually for good: eBay’s annual Power Lunch with Warren Buffett benefitting GLIDE, a charity with the mission of breaking the cycles of poverty and marginalization. This year’s exclusive lunch with the billionaire fetched $3.3M.
Hungry for more? Here’s a snapshot of some of 2018’s most expensive and remarkable purchases on eBay.
20 Most Expensive Purchases of 2018:
Most Expensive Watches of 2018
Rare and vintage timepieces ranging from $90k to more than half a million dollars are featured amongst the most expensive watches bought on eBay this year.
Most Expensive Entertainment Memorabilia of 2018
This year’s top items included two iconic pieces of clothing owned and worn by the King of Pop, in addition to an original 1977 set piece from Star Wars.
Most Expensive Handbags of 2018
Hermes dominates the most expensive handbags bought on eBay in 2018, featuring Birkins galore in a variety of colors, ranging from $30k to nearly $80k.
Most Expensive Sports Cards & Collectibles of 2018
From the Lebron Effect to investments in iconic or modern day players, rare sports cards from Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio to Tom Brady and Lebron James are some of this year’s most expensive sports cards and collectibles sold on the marketplace.
Data is from eBay purchases globally from 1/1/18 - 12/12/18.

I was wondering about that too, gracie. I know the baseball card sale went through; the buyer is one crazy guy who thinks someday that will be worth zillions (he's collecting lots of contemporary cards). How Mike Trout will be worth more than Babe Ruth or Honus Wagner, your guess is as good as mine.
That watch was worth the price. With all of the very trusted sellers/sites of preowned luxury watches, why someone would list it here is beyond me.

Hi, I saw that thread, too...not sure why it is here again...I didn't think if a thread posted on here didn't have a lot of "traffic" it would be repeated? No clue. If that is the case, then we will be looking at re-posted threads forever and ever.

By the pound? More than I care to mention.

Hey, Sherry. I was also wondering how many of these items actually sold, i.e. cancellations, returns, partials, etc. All I do know I did a buyer request cancel where buyer paid within that one hour window and it sat as sold in my books for over a month. Which to me, it was added into the ebay stats for solds.

General response.
Issues are with duplicate posts by a member. I did not post the other thread, which had one response, nor have I posted this thread before. My apologies to the poster who posted that thread, but it did not come up in a Board search.
If there were issues with this type of duplicate thread, you wouldn't see all those posts about Webinterpret, free returns, seller metrics, negative feedback, seller update, managed payments, etc., and on and on ad infinitum.
And of course one has a choice of which thread to click on.
Thank you.

My link was posted on New Years day and slid down off the page into obscurity perhaps because everyone was doing New Year Day things like watching sports on the TV, enjoying Aunt Mildred and Uncle Wilbur over tea, brunch, walks, more brunch, horseback riding, skiing, sledding, playing, talking, sleeping, hungover, parades, making resolution lists, eating again, drinking again, yelling at the 98dB kids who are high energy from all the wonderful sweet treats, arguing, napping, cleaning, traveling back home, and more, much more!
I am glad you linked again because it's interesting, except for the lunch with Warren Buffet, well some would be interested, and what else happened,
I got fired from my job at the bank today.
An old man came in and asked me to check his balance, so I pushed him over.

Well, very good to see you here, @ohnojoey I was going to post a response just to you to apologize for this thread. I searched the Board first but your thread never came up; in any event, as you know, it had but one response. Most likely it was the timing, being on New Year's Day, my apologies but I never saw it.
While I don't know which sales were actually completed, I, like you, and others, thought it was interesting.
Thank you so much for your post, and again, my apologies. I don't know why search didn't bring up your thread, but it didn't. I really appreciate your understanding and patience.

Check sold listings. That will tell you the demand and the "ebay" value. The value will quadruple if they are certified authentic and graded, and slabbed.

Pleeeaze, no apologies, no reason to, none. You did nothing.
But you could tell me a joke!
Here are some other things that were actually sold on ebay;
"The meaning of life sold for $3.26 on ebay in 2000? For real. I think I read 7 people bought it.
A ghost in jar sold for $55,000
The buyer didn't pay.
William Shatner’s kidney stone fetched $25,000 in 2006
A 10 year old granddaughter listed her grandmother for sale on ebay, describing her as "annoying but cuddly"
Ebay removed the listing for "human trafficking.
Advertising on someones forehead for 30 days sold for $37,375 to advertise the snoring remedy, SnoreStop.
A corn flake shaped like Illinois went for $1,350. The owner of a trivia website bought it for his traveling museum.
Justin Timberlake’s half-eaten French toast left behind was sold for $1,025 on ebay.
A grilled cheese sandwich with the face of Virgin Mary sold for $28,000 in 2004 on ebay.

All very interesting sales! I remember some of them. The corn flake. Justin's toast. The grilled cheese that looked like the Virgin Mary.
I remember the auction for the phone number, (212) 867-5309, the number in the Tommy Tutone song, Jenny. What a week that was! The bidding was hot and furious throughout the week, and many bids were cancelled by the seller during that week. The seller was screening and pre approving bids. It became a game, and someone even started selling t shirts that said I bid on Jenny's number!
What's the difference between ignorance and apathy? I don't know and I don't care!

That's okay. It happens. You could self-report the duplicate thread if you wanted to, I believe, using the "Report Inappropriate Content" link at the three dots/Options link at the top right-hand corner of your post. It's your prerogative to do so.
Oh nooo. I'm glad castle didn't do that when you suggested it. I just got home and enjoyed reading it. I never saw the other thread.

I didn't see the other thread, but it's probably here again because I believe castle said she did a search and didn't see one posted. I guess if someone has already read a post, there's no need to read it again, just pass it by. <shrug>
This one seems to have garnered a lot more replies.
