Quick positive story.

I recently sold a $25 shirt that was described as black when in fact it was dark gray.

My error.

The buyer contacted me about it.

I apologized and offered the buyer a full refund if he wanted to return it -or- a partial refund if he wanted to keep it.

I told him the partial refund would be "what ever he thought was fair".

He decided to keep the shirt and asked for a partial refund.

I asked him how much of a partial refund he would like.

I was prepared to give him what ever he asked for.

He replied back "you decide".

I issued him a 50% or $12.50 refund.

The buyer messaged me and thanked me ... hasn't left me feedback yet thought.   😉

Re: Quick positive story.

Very good customer service there.  I also usually try to get buyers to decide what they think is a fair partial refund if we go that route, and I've had a few that didn't want to give me a number.  They've always been satisfied with what we end up offering.  Great job, and hopefully that positive feedback will arrive soon!

Coincidentally, gray is 50% of black.

Re: Quick positive story.

I decided to be very generous with this buyer ... since it was my screw up.

Re: Quick positive story.

Hopefully, other sellers read this and learn what to do.

Some sellers love to argue with the seller.

Remember, way back when  I mentioned a few times like 75 % men are colorblind(myself included) and sometimes we as sellers get it wrong as well as buyers.

I have corrected a few mistakes and usually the buyer doesn't leave a feedback or they leave a neutral(I got two).

@inhawaii

And I wouldn't expect anything less from you, such a good seller. I wish I could buy from you but those pineapple candies would stick to my expensive crowns and I already have a human form of those naughty plushies!

I am glad you worked it out but maybe you should have just given him the extra $12 since it was your screw up. (if it was your fault) Haggling over pocket change on a mistake you made is not being very generous. IMHO The buyer seemed reasonable and fair. (unless there are missing details)

Under promise and over deliver.

Re: Quick positive story.

Hey @inhawaii

Great story!  I had a similar experience with a dark-gray cat I adopted recently.   The rescue offered his brother (who looks just like him) for free ... so I guess I got a 50% off deal.  😻😺
