Question on Selling multiple identical items on E Bay fixed price auctions

When you have a number of identical items to sell how do you handle a sale where a buyer buys more then one item?  It seems when this occurs that while a buyer is charged the additional cost of the extra item the shipping is not adjusted automatically for the additional size of the package.  In other words the Buyer is only charged for shipping a single item and not for the additional size of package needed for shipping multiple items.  Is there a setting I can apply where on multiple items the customer cannot pay until an invoice is sent?  Thanks in advance.

how are you shipping them? Most items work ok for me with the exception of USPS flat rate, the calculator will assume that if you are shipping one 8 pound widget in a padded FRE that 8 of them will fit because that is only 64 pounds and the PFRE is good for 70.

One thing that I do to test is from another account put some in your cart and see what it says the shipping will be

I put 2 of your chili mac in my cart and it said $11 for 1 and $11 for 2

It probably has something to do with your shipping settings, I have fought this in the past

go to your shipping preferences and make sure you have  a calculated shipping rule set "combine all shipping weights"

Thanks.  I will check that but as I recall the shipping weights are combined OK.  It does not allow for the fact I need a larger shipping box for multiple items which adds to the cost.

@agelinc

When you set up your listing, in the shipping section where you put in the cost for the buyer to pay for shipping, there is a field for the shipping of an additional item.

My experience is I have to use calculated shipping.  Flat rate shipping allows multiples to ship at the price of one.

Not if you set your listing up correctly.  There is a spot in the shipping section of a listing set up to put in a fixed price for the shipping of an additional item purchased.  It works very well as I've used it for years.

See the post right above yours.
