Question about "Tracking uploaded" metrics

Howdy all!

Last month my top seller status dropped to above standard due to my "tracking uploaded" metric falling below 95% (a buyer asked if I would delay shipment, and I mistakenly believed if she marked "item received on time" in the feedback that it would count as "on time".  I have since learned this is not the case!) and there was one other item that missed by one day.  So, that being said, I have been trying to get my numbers back up, and Ebay sent me an email stating I had a grace period for doing this...I did have a few sales (you know how slow it is now!) and I did observe my percentage go up....

My question is, do the numbers get updated after every successful upload and delivery or is it only on the 20th of the month when they do their assessment? I thought I had observed it go up after a few sales, but what is throwing me off now is that on Mon. June 3rd, my Metric was 93.75% and 45 of 48 items, and on Tuesday June 4th I successfully uploaded, and had delivered on time, FOUR packages, but as of today my Metric has not changed!! Still 93.75% and 45 of 48 items.

Haven't had a sale since June 3rd, so it's looking like I won't make my Metric by June 20th. (frowny face).

Question about "Tracking uploaded" metrics

If that shows in ebay messages, you can call and get at least part of it removed.......  And, supposedly, if  the remainder impacts you to the point of a sanction, they will remove the part that didn't get removed with the call.

I can't remember which is which........  but calling CS may get you out of that particular problem with that one.

Question about "Tracking uploaded" metrics

The simple answer to all of this is to not offer priority mail in the listing itself, other than the description you provide to buyers, and to set handling times to at least 2 days.

I set my shipping preferences as standard shipping only in all my listings, but I actually ship the majority of the items I sell using first-class (video games for instance). This gives me more time in case USPS is a day or two late with shipping.

Having 1 day handling times is often what causes the majority of shipping related defects. Even if you ship on time, you have zero control over how the post office handles your packages once they're out of your hands. For instance, I often drop off my sales from the night before in the early morning hours around 5 or 6 am. Yet, USPS often doesn't even scan them in until 12 hours later!

Question about "Tracking uploaded" metrics

Thanks everyone for answering!!  DjDaniel, I used parcel select on that one particular package, (in fact most anything over 12" which is most of my stuff) and it comes with tracking....

I guess your percentages doesn't budge at all, no matter what you've sold, UNTIL  the 20th of the month?  (Not you, but someone else mentioned this)... is this true? I just thought I had seen it going up throughout the month last month, but I may be wrong (often am!)

I do have the 2 day handling, for sanity reasons. :-)-Dippity
