Question About Best Offer on Multiple Item Listing

Hi. I currently have a multiple-item listing for 7 items. The Buy It Now price is $10.00 plus a $3.80 shipping fee. A person has made an offer to buy 5 of the items for $8.00 apiece. That per-item price is acceptable to me, but it’s not entirely clear to me what they expect to pay for shipping.

Does this:

mean that the person is expecting to pay a total of $43.80 to purchase the 5 items and have them shipped ($40.00 for the items and $3.80 for the total shipping fee)? Or does it mean they are expecting to pay a total of $59.00 ($40.00 for the items and $19.00 for the total shipping fee - 5 x $3.80)?

I have sent them a private message to clarify and told them that if they intended to pay $19.00 for shipping, that didn’t seem fair and that if they gave me a preferred shipping method, I’d be happy to see if I could find a cheaper shipping cost and just charge them what the carrier charges me.

The person has not answered yet and I don’t know if that means they haven’t seen my private message or they have seen it and have decided to let their offer expire.

What’s the best course of action at this point? I’d like to accept the offer, but at the same time, I don’t want to be on the hook for a lot of shipping charges that will eat into the purchase price (if the user is expecting to pay only $3.80 for shipping all five items and I accept the offer, won’t I be stuck paying more shipping?).

Hope that all makes sense. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer - it’s much appreciated.

[edit] never mind checked the listing and it charges the correct shipping on the estimate page.

Re: Question About Best Offer on Multiple Item Listing

First.............wait to hear  from your buyer.

For info, I think 5 of those would easily fit into a flat rate padded rate envelop and ship for around  $6, if I remember correctly.
