Customer asked for a return on two earmuffs that touch hair and skin. The add specifically states returns on those items are not accepted. Customers reason (Changed their mind) They were too tight on their 4 YO heads") This was the first of it's kind since I started selling these in 2016 and the earmuffs are adjustable Is this too tight on this 5 YO ?. So, with a little research, the customer made the request on a Monday just after a local Monster Truck show in their town on Sunday 🤔. Calling **bleep** on this customers request. They got the items, used the items and then wanted to be refunded. I offered a partial refund because, after all, they get to keep the items (can use them again), and I paid the shipping. eBay should check customers return request for the number of times they request returns, to see if this is a pattern. What say eBay? What say You?

I think you are missing the point. Many are going to post problems that they themselves have created. Why not offer advice/solutions in a way they can be more responsive if your reason of responding to them is to help? Instead of telling them how wrong they are maybe help them understand what they should do to prevent the issue they are having.
If not it appears to be that some post for their own ego, group acceptance or for a laugh. ( i do enjoy the humor part myself)

I'm sorry, but usually "changed mind" means you get the item back as it was sent (sealed and unused if new).

@carlmarxx wrote:The earmuff's fall under the heath code no return's once they are removed from the box and removed from plastic packaging and touched the skin . In the Ebay UA does cover no returns under the health code regulations which covers both online and B/M . it is covered in both federal & state merchant and buyer statues . no return's and refunds once buyers remove item from the box and from the plastic protective bag which is in the statues .
And exactly how often does ebay honour that? You shouldn't be able to return makeup, or swimsuits, or a whole bunch of other things but ebay certainly allows it.

Seller has to work to get the right rep on the phone that has been with ebay for over 5 years .

There Is no rep worth getting via phone.
I would never put in that 'work', to try and get the most experienced outsourced worker.
There are other avenues to get much more experienced agents that requires much less work.
I'll stick to that.

How do I reverse an accidental acceptance of a return?

No! But they should beware of it ,by reading the information on the packaging .

Maybe. But no returns doesn't mean no refunds.
Please show me the 'health codes' that says buyers arent entitled to refunds.
If an item cant be returned due to the reasons you describe then the seller should just issue a refund without return.
You can't falsely advertise MBG on your listing and then say 'sorry this items is no returns'.
Since eBay offers the MBG maybe the items that are health concern returns should be sold on a different platform.

Ha, imagine you go to Walgreens and buy a bottle of Tylenol (like a thousand bucks these days), then when you get home you open the box and find the lid seal is missing, then you look at the bottom of the box and its' flap was badly re-closed with E-6000 glue and there's a hair sticking out of it. So you trot back to Walgreens and they won't refund you because they can't resell opened medicine.

Is this "no return" policy enforced by eBay when the product received is faulty? I cannot raise a return request, but it is not because I changed my mind. How do I get ebay involved in this case? I'm at my wits' end!

This is an old thread in the Sellers forum so you won't get any help here, in fact moderators will probably close this thread due to age, any minute.
If you are a buyer with a problem, start a new thread of your own, in the Buyers forum.

Health codes? TJMaxx sells a tremendous amount of cosmetics and health and beauty products. If you are familiar with TJX you know that they just pile stuff on the shelves and let the customers plow through it. I have actually seen women go in there and open jars of creams and stick their fingers into them to try them. If someone buys a product and gets it home and tries it and doesn't like it, they can return it for a refund and I don't know if an employee even checks to see if has been opened or not (probably not) before they return it to the shelf to sell again. I'm sure things like this occur at other stores; I know Marshall's is the same because it's part of TJX family and there are probably other stores that do the same thing that I don't know about.
