Do these sellers realize that price gouging is illegal? I mean, $1,000.00 for 1 ounce of USED hand sanitizer while our nation is facing virus that is killing people is not just wrong, it's illegal. Then there is the fact that as fast as eBay is taking them down they are slipping by, by relisting them time & time again. With the above mentioned item being used, it is potentially not safe anyways. I just don't get how these people are going out buying up as much as they can, keeping it out of the hands of those who fall in the at risk groups & then thinking they will get rich while people are at risk of dying! I just find it really sad that some go that low in our nation. I just really want to know why are these items still for sell on eBay & still being allowed to be posted?

Give them time. This is no small task. Sellers are getting very creative hiding from Ebay by posting in other categories and using new selling accounts just to name a couple. It is also Sunday and likely they don't have a full staff working today in the office or from home.
Don't make it seem like Ebay hasn't been doing anything about this because it simply would not be true. Ebay has removed 1,000's of 1,000's of 1,000's of listings in the past week.
When you see a listing you believe is breaching the rules, report them. That will help. I spend a few minutes each day devoted to locating and reporting these listings. Especially those trying to hide.

ebay could end them all with simple click, but instead thousand and thousands of sold listing since the 9th....it is totally unfair to those who were selling at a fair price. I personally reported over 100, but some of the seller that had their ended, just relisted them within minutes
No they can't.

eBay has also stated that they will ban these sellers for price gouging. eBay has been taking these listings down by the thousands.

I got mine at the dollar store for 50 cents. Of course I purchased mine in December before I went on vacation. Then there were plenty so I stocked up. So I was able to give them to my family too when this health issue started. But it would have never occurred to me to sell them. I just feel fortunate that I bought a supply of toilet paper too. People who try to capitalize on this crisis by price gouging these items are morally bankrupt.

The best thing we can hope for is the states force ebay to put all their resources into banning these sellers who are profiting off this. Ebay is complicit as they get income from this in fees so they have a serious situation. The government has stiff penalties, 20,000 listings that ended this weekend doing this abusive gouging at 1-10,000 per incident wipes out their profits for the month with ease.

My wife is an LPN and works 3rd shift at a retirement home, they've put some nice protocols in place to protect their elderly population. On her way home this morning she stopped at a local store (NOT a national chain) ... she saw they had some off brand toilet paper ... there was no limit on how much you could purchase, she took one package of 24 rolls @ $ 0.50 per roll, total price $ 12.00. And no, we will NOT be reselling it on eBay LOL!
I am hoping all internet venues find a way to eliminate the price gouging on certain items ...

Its crazy. I saw another seller selling toilet paper for 20.00 a roll. Ebay doing nothing about it.
