Prepping an invoice, and the entire order takes 2 boxes. How to do the invoice?

Do I use the shipping calculator for each box and manually add the totals, manipulating the cost of one of the boxes to become total for both? 

then after he pays, it looks like I will have the option to print multiple labels. That part I get, just not the invoice part.

What invoice? Why is there an invoice?

 

You can either use 'calculated shipping' or your own 'flat rate' (I use furthest zip)- when you use Calculated, you account for both boxes by using the larger box and then add a 'handling' fee that covers the cost of the 2nd box, so buyers will see a 'correct' total.

I've done that before, put the shipping total on the invoice and if they don't know, would be smart to let them know it'll be in 2 boxes just in case their not delivered on the same day.

eBay isn't really a platform where you typically adjust things AFTER the purchase.  Sending the invoice just re-sends what they already saw at the time they hit "Buy-It-Now" or the auction ended.

 

If the buyer already made the purchase you are too late.  You need to find a bigger "1st" box, or eat the cost on shipping two packages on your own.

 

If you can use the one box, I just print the label based on that, and then I copy/paste the tracking number on the other item as well.  You don't need to move around any costs or manipulate anything after the sale is made.

You may also want to look into UPS shipping as an option as well.  For a number of your listings, it's quoting me $47.00 shipping. Now granted I am on the east coast so I'd expect to pay more coming from California but you wouldn't want to lose half of the country as a customer, potentially.

Doh! I was stuck on trying to show the buyer different shipping options. I chose one and added them up. What one sees on mobile vs web…

     I do not see anything that you have sold or are selling that would require two boxes. It would help if you could provide the dim's and weight on the items you are shipping and why you think you need to use two boxes. When you created the listing you should have entered the dim's and weight of the item you were selling in the box you would be shipping it in. This is what the buyer sees and pays when they purchase the item. You cannot invoice for additional shipping costs but you can provide a shipping refund once you have shipped the item. 

     Most of your listings offer the buyer a choice of shipping options but they are all expensive options you may want to look into using USPS ground advantage as your default. A lot of your items are shipping priority mail from the west coast as the default so this is what I am seeing as the shipping cost for the following item. Not sure what the dim's and weight of the item is but there are a LOT of cheaper ways to ship this that would be more attractive to buyers.

Thanks @tdl_collectibles . The shipping part has been a bear, and it doesn’t help that I only realized a day ago that the ebay Web version shows more of what’s available to sellers. I just found out I could add additional shipping options. I’ll add UPS.

I could not get 20 dolls into any one box I have, and the buyer said he’s fine with two.

Then ship in two separate boxes (with 2 separate labels), so that you'll have two different tracking numbers.

Hi @dbfolks166mt - One person got 20 dolls.

 

     Go to Home Depot or Lowes and pickup up a moving box. You can get a large 24" x 20" x 21" box for about $3.50. Load it up and then trim to size. I shipped a full sized beer keg through USPS in one once. Shipping one large box will still be cheaper than shipping 2 smaller ones. Make sure you insure it for enough to cover the contents.

Thanks for the suggestion! Got one. There was no box trimming to be done, and it was only $3 less, but much nicer to only worry about one box.

     Nice and agree much less worry with a single box as opposed to two. I can just imagine the nightmare situation if one arrived and one got lost. Surprised there was only a $3 difference but guessing that is because of the single box size more than the weight. 

     You really need to look at and consider USPS ground advantage as opposed to priority mail. Priority mail used to be my default because of the insurance but when ground advantage came out and included $100 insurance coverage I switched my default to ground advantage with priority mail as an option. There is also a break point where UPS ground becomes cheaper than USPS. Given the cost of shipping these days it is something buyers take note of. When I search for an item on eBay I always stack the results by Price + shipping lowest first. Example for the following item it is showing a shipping cost to me in VA of $42 this would probably never show up in my search results or would be a LONG way down on the list. A USPS large priority mail flat rate box is only $22.80 retail, $19.90 discounted rate.
