Post Your Stupid Story Of The Day Here

Buyer isn't happy with the cost of shipping.  I gave him the dimensions and weight of the box with my zipcode and said 'See if you can find a better rate'.  He just replied and said I should send a 15 pound large box media mail.  --- Straight to Blocked Bidders List.

What have you got today?

This should actually be stupid story of the epoc... how many stupid people are there? I know one thing... they're ALL bidding on eBay. An item goes on auction for a 7-day run starting at $10... but instead of watching for 5 days and bidding the last day, or even the last half of the last day in order to keep the price down... the idiots bid all week long and drive the price UP $70 in the first 2 days, and it just gets worse from there. Where did these people learn this from?

Look! Don't bid until the last part of the auction! Be patient - you don't always have to be the bidder on top at this very moment!!! Snipe or rapid fire bidding at the end if you have to, but geez-louise... learn to be smart willya? You people are the reason that eBay is getting out of control and NOONE can get good deals anymore! Go learn things... you'll thank me later!!!!

Bidding  seems like  a game with some highly competitive  buyers . Some people simply can't stand  to be on the bottom even for a short time  . Tulips

I read somewhere that Swarovski doesn't give out any info on what exactly makes up there crystals. That besides the lead crystal it includes some parts minerals and quartz sand. Cubic Zirconia is currently marketed as being better than rhinestones.

Re: Post Your Stupid Story Of The Day Here

Stupid stories on ebay are a daily thing... lol

I have had two just recently:

1. Guy ordered a part that had black carpet on it.  12 very clear photos.  Color code for the carpet included.   He opens a Not as described case saying "not black enough"

2.  Person orders a craft item.  Sizes are clearly described.  Item photographed with a ruler.  Title says "small wood box w/ lid"  He opens a SNAD stating "way too small"

Edit: had to add this one:  Someone orders a .99 cent item with $3 shipping.  Opens as buyers remorse. Says it's too small for her needs.  Ships it back for a .99 refund.  LMAO!

To clarify,  I know it's really Austrian crystals.

No Australians or Austrians were harmed in the writing of this post.

No stupid story  yet . All of my buyers have been terrific . I did get a stupid question from a potential  buyer  about one of my locket necklaces    recently . They wanted to know if  it came with everything shown in the photos ? Well yes ,, because I describe to a T in every listing exactly what each piece  comes with  along with  the photos . I was tempted  to reply  ''Oh No ,, not at all ,, I just put a picture up of a pretty necklace to attract buyers ,, but what you really get is a bag of peanuts . Okay ,, I didn't  though ,, I was nice .  Tulips  🙂

I get that question sometimes too.  A wicked voice in me suggests I should answer that actually I'm only going to mail them a photograph of the item.

But I don't.

Have you ever had one of those who ask you to add best offer, BIN, or free shipping but then they hem and haw and the item SITS? Meanwhile, someone ELSE comes along and snaps it up! And it is all YOUR fault for letting someone ELSE buy THEIR item!

Marketing people never let FACTS get in the way of a good story...CZ makers are also pushing them as a good alternative to conflict diamonds.  As if there is any comparison...

Re: Post Your Stupid Story Of The Day Here

Just TODAY on another venue, a buyer has requested a refund because the nearly antique item (1920s) is...old and used.Cat Surprised  The site is probably going to deny the refund.  He has had it for over 3 weeks and they don't play that game over there. Never mind he is stupid, its that he waited too long. Sigh.

Re: Post Your Stupid Story Of The Day Here

LOL,  I had sold 4-5 of one particular part number Eaton Fuller transmission shaft for tractor trailer sealed in box.

Couple months back last one I had, guy buys it, $32 to ship, requests return, wrong item sent, same deal.

Says his buddy told him he needed this part number shaft and I sent one that does not work, must have been packaged wrong at factory, despite being stamped with number!!  $28 return shipping and a defect.

Re: Post Your Stupid Story Of The Day Here

I got a question "Is this really vintage?" Well its from the 1960s so I guess so...

After an item with many watchers sells (to someone who actually BUYS), I get slammed with "When are you going to relist this?" messages.

And of course "Why isn't the shipping free?"

Bought Saturday night, no mail on Sunday, message Monday MORNING "I checked my mail and my item didn't arrive today! Where is it?"

All you can do is take a deep breath and think that SOMEDAY all this will be funny.  Right now, not so much.

Re: Post Your Stupid Story Of The Day Here

We have a retail store and I had a buyer call and ask if they could pick the item up to save shipping.

I said sure, no problem, but you have to pay on eBay, I'll send a revised/corrected invoice.

I sent the invoice, he paid and came and picked the part up sometime, not sue when, does not matter.

I noticed eBay dinged me for not shipping the item soon enough.

I called eBay, tried to explain, but they said as there was not an email saying that is what happened, there was nothing they could do.

Again I explained, and the rep said it does not matter anyway, I had perfect error free transactions, one blip would not do anything so there was no way they would ever correct it and for me to not get my hopes up, that's just how it is.

Yeah, sweet, eh?

I work like a fool to try and meet the customer expectation only to be dumped on by eBay.

I'm the stupid one for trying too hard......

Or am I just a fool?

Needless to say, this and the new GTC change, I've ended over 1000 items in my store and am blowing out the remaining items at auction.

Still undecided to continue with ebay or move on......

If I stay, does that make me a stupid fool? 😉
