Buyer isn't happy with the cost of shipping. I gave him the dimensions and weight of the box with my zipcode and said 'See if you can find a better rate'. He just replied and said I should send a 15 pound large box media mail. --- Straight to Blocked Bidders List.
What have you got today?

I did not block a buyer who called me rather than him using eBay messages.
I'm dumping a bunch of items cheap because of the new GTC change, and now I'm meeting a lot of those buyers I prefer to not sell too - the high maintenance low profit customers, the pains, and they are not real smart.
But today this one is smarter than me because I talked to him - oh, listened, as he tried to beat me up on already ridiculously low priced items.
And we agreed he was done, he was going to pay and I was going to ship his 3 little items today -
And of course, he did not pay, as be "might" be waiting until the next round of auctions ends and he can consolidate more into the already packed to ship order.....
Me, yes, I was hit with the stupid stick, hard.......

Received an email asking if I would change a listing to a BIN for 20 or 25 dollars (had a starting auction price of 19.99). I changed it to 24.99 with free shipping and he emailed back saying he would consider it.

This should actually be stupid story of the epoc... how many stupid people are there? I know one thing... they're ALL bidding on eBay. An item goes on auction for a 7-day run starting at $10... but instead of watching for 5 days and bidding the last day, or even the last half of the last day in order to keep the price down... the idiots bid all week long and drive the price UP $70 in the first 2 days, and it just gets worse from there. Where did these people learn this from?
Look! Don't bid until the last part of the auction! Be patient - you don't always have to be the bidder on top at this very moment!!! Snipe or rapid fire bidding at the end if you have to, but geez-louise... learn to be smart willya? You people are the reason that eBay is getting out of control and NOONE can get good deals anymore! Go learn things... you'll thank me later!!!!

Sorry but as a seller I say bid as much and as often as you want - bid early or bid late, as long as you win and pay, I don't care how you do it.

I was in Canada back then. I sent a dress to a buyer in NYC. Tracking showed it was delivered.
About 3 weeks after it was delivered, she opened an Item Not Received Case.
I responded with an image of my receipt and a screen capture of the Canada Post and US Post tracking records showing delivery.
She looked at them and replied that she hadn't realized I was in Canada and that when she received a package from Canada, she was afraid it might contain anthrax or something, so she put it in a black garbage back and put it under her sink, intending to call some branch of law enforcement or other to check it out but never got around to it.
Case closed.
Honestly, city*satins, you could write a book.

So true! Mind you, I tend to treat most of my life and not just eBay like it's a series of adventures that become anecdotes. I used to say that I was going to write my life story and send it in to Disney to see if they wanted to make a ride out of it! 🙂

I remember you saying that!

I was in need of a good laugh today and I certainly got several reading this thread, and laughter is the best way to handle some of these things.
My stupid story is on myself. Soon after I discovered eBay, MANY years ago, I was up late one night, bidding on several cookie jars. I knew about what I would give, so I just checked the shipping costs and put in my maximum bids. I was getting pretty sleepy, and stopped checking the shipping costs because they were all about the same. I came to the last one and put in my maximum bid and went to bed. The next night after work, I got back online to see if I had won any of the cookie jars and I had won a few of them....... including the last one I bid on. But I won it for 3 cents! The shipping was almost $30. That was back before eBay started charging fees on the shipping.
I learned my lesson to read EVERYTHING!

Not stupid, just a head scratcher>
I sold a watch and received a nice feedback, but also a separate note about my packaging. Just to let me know that the "free box from the post office" was a bit mundane for a luxury watch.
It was a $20 digital Casio, not advertised as being too elite...
But someone was happy with their new luxury item so it all ended well!

Sounds like they thought it was a Rolex or something!

No stupid story yet . All of my buyers have been terrific . I did get a stupid question from a potential buyer about one of my locket necklaces recently . They wanted to know if it came with everything shown in the photos ? Well yes ,, because I describe to a T in every listing exactly what each piece comes with along with the photos . I was tempted to reply ''Oh No ,, not at all ,, I just put a picture up of a pretty necklace to attract buyers ,, but what you really get is a bag of peanuts . Okay ,, I didn't though ,, I was nice . Tulips 🙂

@parkersparrow wrote:I don't know if this qualifies as stupid but, here goes. I got a message from someone asking if I would sell a pair of earrings I have listed at $18.75 for $15.99 even. I'm assuming they must mean including the shipping?
LOL ,, I received an offer of 5.90 on a item I have for sale at 10.90 with free shipping . Of course I declined the offer . I don't make stuff to sell here just so a reseller can reap the profits . Tulips
