Possible Scam?

 Apologies if this seems sounds dumb of me, but I don’t often sell electronics.

Does this buyers account look legit? Or can accounts/reviews be faked. Selling a iPad with a broken screen. No bad buyer reviews but the most amount of good ones I’ve ever seen, even lots of duplicate wording reviews. Plus the odd bio.

Are they maybe a refurbisher out of Vietnam or something?..

Thanks for thoughts and help!

Re: Possible Scam?

Its legit that he is a member with lots of buying feedback. You are thinking of shipping an ipad to Vietnam? Sorry, Im confused.

Duplicate feedback comments are very common because eBay provides something like five pre-written ones to choose from, for folks who cannot think of what to say themselves, so the wording means nothing. Those comments about never asking to change the Ship-To: address are fine; that buyer is seeking to reassure the seller that that is not going to happen. (If it did, you would of course have to cancel as Problem with Address, but that does not seem likely in this case.)

I would say that when he pays, you ship. He may indeed be a high-volume buyer of devices that he can repair. (I once did a screen replacement myself, and it wasn't much fun, but I did get the job done successfully.)

@fruitsandveggies75

Don't see any problem with the buyer.

But, you could have problems with the iPad, listing it as used.

From your description, you should change the condition to Parts or Repair and not used.

Have a great day.

I would ship it if they have an address in a country I ship to.

I've had the odd scam from a 1000 FB buyer, but it's only happened twice in 13 years of selling.

Your buyer said "contact me" not "text me", they mean by eBay messaging which is not suspect.

Re: Possible Scam?

At least 2,500 transactions + 8 years on eBay + 29 followers.  Doesn’t sound like this buyer is someone who scams people.
