Hi,
I noticed just now a seller that has what Im pretty sure is hundreds of fraudulent high priced listings.
I reported one but couldnt find a good match for the the report.
And the ebay contact does not bring up a good match.
Can I post the user seller user name on here?
Or any suggestions what I might do?
Thanks!

Here's the "Report this item" sequence that you want for reporting contact info in a listing:

You cannot name/shame on any of these forum pages.
What makes the listings and/or price fraudulent?

No you cannot name and shame here.
And eBay does not give much weight to third party complaints because of the possibility of people using it for abuse or harassment or revenge.
The best avenue is to alert any company whose intellectual property might be infringed.

OK. A seller based in the UK who sells many inexpensive items has now listed hundreds of items that are all auction format. With asking prices in the description of thousands of dollars each.
And here is the 2nd photo they use in every auction. There are over a thousand listings. I dont think Im going to alert all the companies. Of course, there is an email address listed that I cut out, that buyers are instructed to contact

Oh, And the home location has now been changed to California.

the "Buy it Now" price is listed in the body of the description.
Again, they are all auction style listings with a low starting bid.

Sounds/looks like their listings are BEYOND ridiculous so nobody would ever bid or buy and therefore nobody would be interested in even 'clicking' their items to see that verbiage if the prices are high in the first place.
So, looks like a 'no harm/no foul' scenario.

The listing look normal till you click on it. With a low starting price.
The prices are a legit asking price for the item.
Thats why there are so many scammers I guess.
Cause nobody is dumb enough to fall for it.
All it takes is one to email the contact address to "Buy it Now"
Ive seen a lot of scams on ebay, but not this one.
I emailed the seller and told them their account has been hijacked.
Its pretty obvious

Those listings are definitely a scam. That scam has been around for a number of years. Not quite sure how it works but my best guess is the victim makes the purchase off ebay and there is no buyer protection. Seller disappears with the money and if neg FB left, seller doesn't care because it's a hijacked account.

I only noticed because I listed kinda an obscure high dollar item today.
Decided to check on the competing listing.
And thought, my gosh, someone has listed 5 identical items with an 8 dollar starting bid.
That will kill pricing
Lol

@twinter11
Seen those before. You can try to use the report this item button on the listing.
In the three boxes that follow select:
Listing practices
Offer to buy or sell outside eBay
Listing states a buyer can purchase the item outside of eBay
Put a couple of them on your "watch list" and see what happens. I would guess that the "Please Read" section is in graphic form. and not readily detected.

Thanks, I was hitting every combination but none sounded just right.
On that one I thought, are they actually avoiding fees?
But I believe thats the correct one.
I reported one and will check later

This type of scam with hijacked account comes up often and it's usually UK accounts.
I suspect the law requiring UK businesses to publish their contact info in listings makes them an easier target for having accounts hijacked by phishing.

If it is the seller I'm currently looking at, they listed over 56,000 items today. Tractors, housewares, baseball cards, comics, jewelry, musical instruments, and more. I couldn't check all the items, but the ones I did, have the
The items listed are very expensive and rare. The hijacked seller is in the UK and has high feedback, but has listed the items as being in California.
If the items listed are all fraudulent, this one is going to hurt a whole lot of people bidding on these items.
How to report just the seller, everything listed is avoiding fees, and there's probably a good chance they are going to collect the money and disappear, leaving the real seller of this account kinda stuck with the fallout.
