Look, a lot of people hate selling here, I get it. But reading all the negativity on here gets old. So I'm making a thread only about positive events.
Examples: something sold higher than you expected it to, a transaction went better than expected, you found a storage unit you can easily sell for 20X more than you paid for it, etc.

Positive only thread.
Two hydrogen atoms walk into a bar. One says, 'I think I've lost an electron.'
The other says 'Are you sure?'
The first says, 'Yes, I'm positive.'

EBay selling is less demanding than OCS at Brown Field

For a moment today, I saw a view count on one of my listings!

Everything has been going well! 🙂
I'm iffed about markdown manager being changed, but... I'll get over that. Positivity and all. 😛
I've sold 190 items this month thus far for mad profit.
I had a garage sale where I got there first and someone was giving away 300+ items for FREE (they were nice people) and I scooped it all up and explained I have an Ebay store, and they were nice about it. I just sold a book I got from the free pile for $50 the other day, and many things also flew right off the shelves over the past few weeks.
I also made a pile at a yard sale of 200 really amazing items and I was expecting the price to be super high but they simply wanted $100 for everything, making it .50 cents per item. I already made $1,000 off that pile and haven't even listed everything or sold everything yet.
This Saturday, after yard sales, I'm stopping by my usual go-to thrift store which is having a 50% off storewide sale. Last time I went, I filled up 5 full carts. I spent probably $80 on everything and wound up taking hundreds of items home. I recall buying some collectible items for 10 cents or so and selling some of those for $30. Also bought some collector plates for .25 cents and sold 3 of those for $20-30 each, making my profits at least $60+ so I can't wait to go back and fill up many more carts full of super cheap stuff that I know I'll make an incredible profit on.
My sales are up 40% from this time last month, and I thought last month was EXCELLENT, so being 40% up from last month, is great, considering that last month was exceptional.
Aside from me being grumpy over the markdown manager changes, things are overall super peachy over here.

I was kidnapped by aliens last night .
They took me into a special cabin inside their spaceship and interogated me .
They want to know everything about Ebay,INAD,INR,UA and why they cant leave negative feedback.
After I explained the best I can, they said they are not interested in selling on Ebay, although they do have many treasures earthlings like us will kill to have.
I breathed a sign of relief,as I cant take anymore competition,not from outerspace !

Oh,I am not done yet-
They then rewarded me with a huge strange looking EGG,someone laid an egg while I was explaining how Ebay MBG works.
I graciously declined the offer,as we earthlings would have t o deal with force of gravity on our planet and I would not be able to lift this egg by myself.
What I did not tell them is that I am afraid it may hatch and what wil emerge from the EGG,would I be able to list it on EBay and which carrier should I use to ship with tracking and signature confirmation, and what happens if I have to pay return shipping ?
The free 30 days return shipping would be in effect by then,NO THANKS,keep it or turn it into an omelette for lunch !

You should have asked them if they had a ''Star Trek '' type transporter you could borrow while you had chance . You could have avoided the shipping costs altogether . 🙂 tulips

Selling on Ebay has paid for my 3 children to have music lessons (cello, violin, viola, clarinet, orchestra & chamber groups). It was the whole reason for my starting to sell here, and I will forever be grateful that I had an outlet that allowed me to still be with my special needs child, but also provide for luxurys (like music lessons) that we could never have afforded otherwise. Maybe it's why even with all the frustrations of selling lately, I still can't help but feel a bit of loyalty underneath it all. And thanks for the positive thread; it was really needed here.

You are a GREAT parent. Music and art is SO important in a child's world. I played the piano and was classically trained in singing for a few years when I was younger. I wish I had the chance to learn violin. I guess it's never too late to try? I see so many parents brushing off the arts and anything that grows the child's imagination as though the arts aren't very important (in comparison to things like schoolwork) but they are both important. I don't know what my world would be like if I grew up in a world where I wasn't encouraged to participate in the arts. My parents supported me in piano and singing and I'm glad for it.

Thank you for the compliment; that made my day 🙂 I never had the opportunity to learn an instrument when I was growing up, so it was a dream I had for my children. I agree that music/arts are so important. It taught my kids discipline & was a way for them to individually express themselves. I have met so many adults that started violin/instruments as a child, but their parents got tired of hearing the 'screeching/noise' (no way to avoid it in the beginning..lol) and it is a regret for many. My eldest started an orchestra & music classes that meet at our church. He now has 10 new violin students, ranging from 5 years old to a lady in her 40's..so it is never too late to learn! The classes are free..He considers it to be paying it forward for all the music teachers that have invested in him. My middle son just returned from the Phillipines (missions trip) and, of course, took his violin as a carry-on (as I like to say, He couldn't leave his 'girlfriend' behind 😉 ). As you can see, I could talk about this all day. But again, thank you for recognising that while it has been a sacrifice at times (both money & time), it is such a great investment in their future.

I sell Canadian mint discount postage and most of my customers are eBay sellers.
I no longer have to send out emails telling people that I have new stock.
My customers are approaching me and while most purchases are under $1000 face value, they are usually over $500 face.
This tells me that for all the naysayers, some sellers are selling and shipping everything from fishing lures to coins to hijabs to postcards to books.
(Using discount postage works best for LetterRates although I have seen cartons up to two cubic feet covered in postage stamps.)
