Please Help Me Re Buyer Chargeback

Hi, this is my first post, I really hope someone can help me as I've hit a brick wall, also I'm on hol

iday/vacation  and the frustration is spoiling my holiday.

Basically I sold a beautiful ring that was my grandmother's, the photos on the listing show the perfect condition of the ring. I then receive a request from the buyer for a refund as the ring allegedly arrived damaged. The photos attached show a ring in completely damaged condition, my husband said it looks like they'd tried to clean it and it went wring as it is now black and marked. I told them no way I didn't send it like that. They opened a case against me. I received this at the airport & had to call EBay who assured me the buyer wouldn't just be given an automatic refund and agreed my photos show no damage. I arrive in the USA on vacation and call EBay again as the UK person advised. I spoke to someone who was so patronising I could tell they were amused at how upset I was. I was incredulous that I have to pay thecretun postage for an item the seller had damaged. I saw in the resolution centre the case was on hold. I then made a complaint about the buyer misusing the payback. Anyways the case was found against me. I appealed and this was rejected. I have over 2,500 positive feedback and the seller has 8, that might give cause for my word to be believed but I said you have photographic evidence. Now I don't see an option to pay for the shipping rerun of my ring as I had a time limit to do that or unbelievably the buyer keeps the item. But I was waiting for the result of the case being on hold. Someone with a couple of feedback could even do a scam where they remove the diamobds from rhe ring and replaced with cubic zirconas and I'd never know. This has left me disgusted that as a seller I now realise I have no protection at all. Is that anywhere at all I can go with this? Is there anyone at EBay who cares rather than the human robots who answer the phone? Please Help??

Verbal assurances cannot alter written policy, or so I've heard.


They certainly can if you live in a single party consent state and record the conversation. 

 

My phone system automatically records all calls.

If it were in the US and crossing state lines its "wire fraud" which is an even worse federal charge than theft. The seller mentioned the UK... things like this are one of the reasons I choose not to sell internationally.
