Picture search not working or inaccurate??

Anyone else having issue with the picture search function not working? Gives me results not even close to resembling what I took a picture of. Just started for me today. Any suggestions?

@bran_vail not that I'm aware, I used it this morning and at work today, worked just fine for me. Make sure nothing else is in the background though.

Same been hoping all day today, iPhone and android . Does not give accurate search results. Anything I look up and I get Roblox and batteries among other things. Hope they get it figured out quickly, cause I like to list a night !

In my opinion, eBay picture search has always been quite a few steps below G**gle picture search. Even for finding matches in eBay. Would be nice if eBay upgraded their picture search to be (more) intelligent. Seems like eBay comes up with random items with similar shapes, while the other actual does better at identifying items even if the perspective is different.

Yep.  All i keep getting is plants when searching for glass items!!!  So frustrating!!

I was reading this morning an article about this.  The author is an eBay member that posts here often.  You may wish to read it, and pay particular attention to the section on LOCKABLE filters to see if it helps.

In the past there have been similar issues with image search returning apparently unrelated or only loosely related items. Disabling lockable filters has helped in the past, but does not seem to help with this latest problem.

If you want to report this to eBay, try shaking your phone while using the app to trigger a submission form.

Try image search again later. Possibly after the next update it will work better again.

Toggling the Lockable Filter settings doesn't resolve the issue with incorrect image search results. Something broke in the past 48 hours. Updating to the newest version of the app (6.167.0 on iOS for me) doesn't fix the issue. This is a server side problem with their image processing. It does not appear to be a "man in the middle" attack as I do get different results trying significantly different search images.

Mine isn’t working either, started around the same time your issue did as well. Keep checking and checking to see if its fixed.

I am taking a picture of a stuffed animal and getting thousands of pictures of skylander toys and random gamer toys.  I tested it over and over and took pictures of all kinds of other plush animals and got the same sellers and items once again, even taking pics of clothing showed me only plants and incense and even adult items in my search results !!   I hope they get this fixed soon 😞    I also tried the Lockable Filter hack and that did nothing to change my results.
