Personalize finally - but NOOOO!

I have been fed up with selling awards and collecting the personalization text from buyers. It's hit and miss and I have asked ebay numerous times, why can we not add a text box for customers to provide text for personalized items.
Finally, I get an email and they have done it, it seems.

The problem... It's only available in a few categories. My awards do not fit into any of the available categories. 😞
What gives? Why email me and get me all excited, only to see I can't use this feature.

Just for fun, I tried to create a random listing in the Home and Garden category and still could not see that options. Yes, I watched the video too.

I guess this post is mostly a rant, but come on ebay... Help me so I can sell more easily and we can be friends again.

The page says it's available under "certain categories" within Home & Garden, Jewelry, Clothing & Accessories. They did not provide a list of subcategories, but whichever subcategory you chose is not eligible.

This was rolled out in the UK to mixed results. A lot of sellers had issues with it. I thought eBay would have taken some time to fix those problems before rolling it out to the US, but I guess not since it's already live.

I created a test listing under Jewelry & Watches > Fashion Jewelry > Necklaces & Pendants and the Personalize item specific is available.

No, it's right there on the US website in the link.
Just limited to a few select categories.
