Several weeks ago I purchased 16 pallets of returned items with the intent to sell them on ebay once they were cleaned and tested. I began doing this and had several sales during the first two weeks which threw up red flags for eBay I guess. My account was locked, I provided eBay with all the requested documents that show I am who I claim and I am a legitimate seller. Additionally I have nothing but positive feedback and provided tracking information and proof of delviery for every item sold. I also promptly handled any items that needed to be returned in a professional manner. 3/24/2023 I was notified my account was permanently suspended from selling with no reason provided or any feedback. When I inquired after talking to 4 different agents they told me
“I've reviewed your account details and would like to share that your selling practices have proven inconsistent with the level of customer service we expect sellers to deliver.”
Here’s where my confusion is. All of my customers have been very happy with their purchases with the exception of one who didn’t read the ad fully and wasn’t fully aware of the condition of the item. Even in this situation I offer a full refund and return of the item. I had 3 other items that had to be returned (damaged in shipping etc). They won’t elaborate on it beyond what they have already stated.
I am a new seller but i provided all the requested information they asked for when they issued the temp suspension and completed anything they needed.
I already have my notice of dispute filled out and am talking to my lawyer to get ready for arbitration or litigation depending on which route he feels is best. But has anyone ever had this type of issue or problem? If I can’t sell on eBay it sucks but my main concern is they want to hold the money for 72 business days which is absurd hence why I contacted my lawyer.

Selling multiples of expensive items for substantially under retail seems to be one of the primary red flags that gets an account suspended and investigated by eBay. I am afraid you got caught in the dragnet eBay recently put up to stop the sale of stolen merchandise on the platform, in response to new legislation called the INFORM Consumer Act. For more on this, see the link below. So sorry this happened to you.

Do you think so? Even though i provided proof of purchase?

I believe the concern over stolen goods was what probably brought your account under review and suspension. But since you provided them with a manifest and other proof of purchase, i cannot imagine why they still banned you. There have been a number of sellers in the forum lately with the same experience as yours.

Trust me, you're not alone. Apparently this is somewhat commonplace with eBay? I did a totally legit deal and was in constant communication with them throughout the process. They reversed the transaction and gave the buyer the money back on a no return/no refunds sale.
Totally bizarre and unfortunate as we are legit/honest people with high integrity.
Good Luck with your case.... you're on the right track with the attorney. We have wasted SO much time trying to get anyone at eBay with even an ounce of brains and authority to even get on the phone with us. It'd be a total joke if it wasn't happening to us.
If you have a referral for a great attorney that handles cases like these, we'd love to talk to him/her.
Thanks,
C.

Sounds like you had a not as described case opened against you that you did not respond to? Your no returns, no refunds means absolutely nothing in that case. All buyers are protected by Ebays money back guarantee. When you didnt respond to the case, Ebay stepped in and refunded the buyer without requiring him to return your item. Ebay sees you as a unresponsive seller, and you also received a major defect to your account for that.I would suggest before you consult an attorney that you read over the user agreement you agreed to when you signed on to sell here. Its all spelled out in there and is iron clad. Good luck.

Hello bonjourami
i had my business account permanently banned today . And when I spoke to an agent he said because I logged in from 3 different locations
while on holiday
And they said there is nothing they can do 😞

Im sorry to hear that, but there is no way around Ebay's decision, good luck.

Not pointing the finger at you, but I doubt your account will be re-instated. My husband and I used to buy pallets years ago, but the vendors had addresses we had receipts. Mostly things like printer cartridges and plumbing supplies. There is SO much stolen merchandise on this platform and of course, everyone is innocent until they're not. Happening a lot of the coastal ports or trains.
You can reach out to social media via Facebook to see what they might be able to do for you:

US agents who work for ebay and may better serve you. Many positive posts here on this forum w/ their ability to be helpful.
Good luck to you.

I also promptly handled any items that needed to be returned in a professional manner.
Four problems in less than 25 sales did you in.
No matter how well you handled the return and refund, that's a very high number.
I'm afraid you will have to look to other venues to move those pallets of returns.
The 72 day Hold is because Paypal has a 180 days from payment window for Claims. Most credit cards have the same for chargebacks.
Even just as a new and unproven seller, your customer's payments were Held for up to 30 days against your performance.
As I understand it, the upside of Return Pallets is that Buyer Remorse can lead to good stuff being returned and then resold at waaaay below market wholesale.
The downside, is that some has been returned because it was garbage and remains garbage.
You'll have to do a better job of deciding which are which for the items remaining.

For anyone interested in an update. After almost having to go to arbitration I was able to get into contact with someone who’s as able to provide a little more info.
the reason behind the ban actually had nothing to do with my performance or account and I was actually above standard.
The issue was the items I was selling were considered high risk inventory as well as them not really liking the documents the source website provided to me and that’s what led to the ban. They wouldn’t expand beyond that but I got my money and ultimately that’s all I cared about.

Actually had nothing to do with the returns. But I got my closure. I find their reasoning and process dumb but I got my money so Idc.
ebay is dead to me now lol.

eBay was not passing judgement, they were assessing risk.
And eBay analyzes billions and billions of transactions and uses those statistics to identify potential risk.
The fact that you may think their reasoning is "dumb" is probably not going to move them.

Good luck to you in your move to another platform. Sorry this happened to you.

It’s not meant to move them. I already discussed the reason/situation with them with logic and reasoning.
😂
