I have been selling on eBay since 1998. This past year has been very difficult for me, I was in the hospital with kidney disease. My husband of 44 years was in the hospital twice. in the ICU both times. He passed away in April. I have been grieving and trying to get my life in some kind of order. I am now able to function in a reasonably normal way. And I get a letter from eBay that due to my performance if I don't improve my status that I will be placed on probation, suspension, or terminated. This is very upsetting. Why didn't someone reach out to find out what was wrong or was there something they could do to help me. I have an inventory of over $100,000 that I need to get rid of. I have looked and cannot find a phone number to call someone about this. What is my recourse.

Very sorry for all your troubles.......  but you do need to understand that ebay has millions of sellers, undoubtedly more than a few have troubles and serious problems at any one time.....so the idea that could "reach out and find out what's wrong" is asking a bit much in my opinion.

It would seem like the more efficient thing is to expect sellers to remove themselves/items when problems occur that prevent a seller from carrying out their transactions according to Ebay rules to which the seller has agreed. 

You say ebay has warned you, which is certainly "reaching out" on an impersonal level, and is giving you the chance to improve your status....so I would try to concentrate on doing that.....

Hard to give specific advice since we don't know precisely what is putting you in a problem status.....

Regardless of recourse, I think that you need to put your store on "time away" mode ASAP.  Then, dedicate some time to understanding what the deficiencies are, and how to fix them.  I would think that the worst thing that you can do is continue with whatever system/process has led to the service metric dings from eBay.

Im sorry for your loss, I recently lost my husband too. Unfortunately, Ebay doesnt care about any personal problems that have affected a sellers performance..its the same criteria for everybody. Do you have defects? for what?

Because they expect sellers to have their own backup plans in place. I know it's shocking.

I am sorry about the loss of your husband. You might start off by contacting eBay via Facebook with a private message with the account information, they may be able to tell you what you need to do. I looked at what you are selling, you have 119 items listed. Were you selling under or still using a different account or do you have two accounts, the one you posted this message under was started in May of 03? This one shows 100% feed back. If you have two account and if one gets suspended, so will the other if they share common information like home address or IP address. If it is a case of two accounts and one has problems, that needs to be taken care off.

Sorry for your loss.  I too lost my wife, father and last living uncle in 2017.  It was trifecta!

Your account info says 100% positive feedback.  Member since May 2003. 

I think you just need to forge ahead and try to reduce your shipping costs on some items.  100k in inventory might seem like a lot.  Is that your cost or what you hope to sell it for?

Ebay is 30 minutes down the road from me and I work in their corporate headquarter campus as a construction supervisor once in a while but I can't do favors for sellers.

by feedback you have been away for some time on the selling end: This may be part of the problem and can get your listing amount restricted as they are not sure of performance due to such.

Just saying.

Keep listing, keep selling, ship fast and do all the things one needs to do .

I'm not even going to comment on the ebay issues. I'm sorry for your loss, and you sound like a very strong person. All the best to you.
