What is the deal with people  impulse buying the wrong item. It amazes me  that people do not read the ad and the item specifics and just press buy. I have had ten people who are clueless at what there buying and had to refund them.

Some buy on phones where the layout imo is confusing.

Others shop when they are busy or distracted and do not realize until later it is the wrong item.

Some simply just change their mind.

Most buyers know that ebay's got their back and they don't have to be responsible for anything they do.

Bingo.

Everything here is bought "on approval" now, and between the two "separate companies" approval can take up to six months after delivery.

Sellers TOS?  LOL.

Chaos is NOT an "industry standard".

That's in part because this site has chosen to stop displaying full listings to many unless they click an additional button.

they're

Before or after shipping?

Before is a pain, after .....

You can always go the Return for Refund, without mentioning that Not As Described disputes require the seller to pay for the return.

Part of those cancellations are probaby due to the cheaper items that show up on the buyers email AFTER they bought - and they simply cancel the first one and purchase a cheaper item.  Of course with every click - Ebay makes fees, they don't care - and if you had a paying customer first - then paypal pockets that extra .30 cents - I would not put it passed them they have trolls that purchase things, pay for it and then cancel so that paypal can make their monthly revenue goals Cat LOL

People have said it over and over - if you can't lose what you are selling - don't sell it.  I am thrilled that Ebay gives us a "look" at the next scam in progress  - each time that send a "iphone you can sell yours" or a purse brand or $$$$$ item.  The main stream sellers (not chinese) are passing on that expensive item to sell here - so Ebay has to hit NEWBIES for the fresh meat of scammers.  Sad really.  Guess in some ways it is an expensive lesson in life - on-line is the way many people are getting life lessons because of the "greed, lies and deception".

When returns and cancellations become too costly for people - they will go to other avenues, you can count on it.  So while Ebay is making that .05 or .30 a listing link to an outside source sale - another vender is making a sale - and I would laugh to think that people are probably listing their items for big bucks here and have the same item in another venue that links to ebay so they get the sale one way or another - just a little bit more complicated.

As usual everyone jumped on the bad Ebay bandwagon. Before I disagree with those anti-Ebay folks I need an answer. Are those books you are selling, or are they digital PDF files of the books ?

They were probably surprised to learn that they had purchased a digital book instead of a physical book. They know that this is not allowed on ebay, but apparently the seller does not. Could he/she be clueless as to what they are selling?

As far as other avenues, I was forced onto those months ago, if I wanted to move inventory. Thank Gawd this is a hobby cuz I'd be homeless if I relied upon sales here.

As I'm reviewing this thread, what comes up in my music playlist?

'People Are Strange' by The Doors.

AS shown at the last of the description, the "books"...... are

eBook in ePub FORMAT.

Condition is

Brand New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages.

 Format:ePub

Listing has a gallery photo, presumably of the book cover........  2 other pics say ebook.

I don't know how one is supposed to list e books, but I don't imagine this is it......personally, if you want to avoid the problem, I'd put ebook in the title,  if this is the only category you can use.

You're really not supposed to sell download items on here unless you use the "Everything Else" category and list as a classified ad, which, last I checked, cost around $10.

And it might help a lot to put e-Book in your titles and be a bit more descriptive - and mention in the description again that the book is in digital format.

You can burn them to a CD and mail them to the buyer(s) under books, last I checked anyway.
