On 1/15 an item is sold and paid for. On 1/16 the buyer informs the seller that she has changed her mind and doesn't want the item anylonger. The same day on 1/16 the buyer files a claim with Paypal for non receipt of this item. Paypal accepts this claim and gets into the seller's account putting the payment on hold. Puchased today - non-receipt claim tomorrow ?? This is how dis-obeying eBay rules are enabled and encouraged.

If you have not shipped and a buyer tells you they don't want the item, you would cancel the transaction using buyer request, which won't get you a defect.
It is possible for a buyer to lose a case on Ebay and then turn around and file with Paypal. If that does not work, the buyer can do a chargeback with their credit card company.
Negative feedback cannot be left for a buyer. You can't leave a negative comment in a positive format. It is a violation, and you could get that attached to your account. If Buyer calls CS, they will remove the comment.

I won’t further burn the eyes by my fellow board members by quoting your entire post. All we need to know is:
YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE TO DISPUTE IT BUT YOU NEVER DID.
NO, NO I DID NOT GET IT, I NEVER EVER EVER CHECK MY EMAILS NEVER.. HAD NO CLUE I HAD A REASON TO.
Boggles the mind.

Have a bit of patience, yes the funds get put on hold but once the investigation is done, they will find that the buyer had initially agreed to purchase the item and it typically goes in the buyers favor. This has happened to me quite a few times and it never turned out against me. Now if the buyer wants to return the item, that is their choice to do so and i would accept the return in which they have to pay for the returned shipping costs.

Ebay really needs to address this issue. When they cannot receive their money from Ebay, they go right to paypal and dispute and apparently do not have any requirements to meet. If the bank refunds a buyer's money, paypal will take it from your account. I'm not sure what Ebay or paypal 'seller protection' is. Ebay says they dont have anything to do with paypal, and paypal says they are not a bank, but a third party. Everything is geared towards buyers, against sellers, and they are never out their money, only the people who make their money for them. It's really quite disgusting.

O M G - my mind is fried having read that. Bottom line, people will deal with Ebay until they figure out they cannot "work the system", then they'll move on to the next in line (paypal). Paypal being a banking institution always sides with the person that spent the money, its kinda crazy (but accepted my many as a way of life when choosing e commerce as a means of income, or extra income). Trust me, it drives me nuts when a buyer loses a claim on Ebay, then runs to paypal with a completely diff story (and wins).
what can we do .... nothing 🙂
