Partiality of who can profit with any item at this time?

I've thoroughly searched and found that the people reporting (in their terms) price   gouging is up and active selling their products way above retail value making way more of a profit then I would had on my cleaning products for sure. Why would this be acceptable? Why isn't  fair all across the board? Do some of these sellers have some kind of pull? I have 100%feedback and excellent customer service, when did this become an issue all of a sudden? I provide products that people want right now and DEFINITELY not making the profit the reporters are TRYING to get for theirs. How is this even fair? Why aren't the reporters giving their items away? Better yet, why aren't they at least not auctioning or listing at retail value? Thanks, Barbara

Ebay will never be totally fair to everyone all the time........too many variables especially now.  They have instituted "approved" sellers on some items where they are trying to stop the gouging but I don't know which items or how you get approved........

I don't understand.

Have some of your listings for cleaning products been pulled? EBay has been doing that for all listings of some products, although more keep going up every day.

Are your listings not selling at the same prices as other listings for identical products (assuming all these are acceptable listings)?

It could be the market price for your products has risen and you are leaving money on the table.

It could be those sellers are offering Free Shipping and part of the higher price covers shipping.  Buyers love to be told they are getting something free.

Do some of these sellers have some kind of pull?

Yes.

Some sellers are more than TRS. They are PowerSellers.  A status that gives certain perks. They may be paying for Promoted Listings. They may have poorer FB but more of it.

Good point... some things just aren't always fair. That's a part of life... just boggles me to see an outrage by those that have their items marked at a much higher profit.

I'm not sure how you were able to determine that.  Certainly a few on the thread have said they actively report listings as they find them for price gouging, which Ebay is asking the community to do.

What makes your statement any more fair that what your opinion is about Ebay preventing you from earning money off those that are scared and just trying to survive this crisis.  And how do YOU determine what that sellers costs involved are?

I find it amazing how some can work so hard to justify their attempts to take advantage of people that are caught up in a very bad situation so they can line their own pockets.  The types of items that Ebay is actively after for price gouging are not pretty hats, a new shirt, new drapes, a chair, etc.  They are things we need to keep ourselves and our surroundings hopefully clean from the virus.

You want to compare sellers that act responsibly in a health crisis to those that would like to have a financial gain during a health crisis on the very products so many people across the nation are in search of.  Somehow you see that as the same and that is just mind boggling to me.

Comparing apples to oranges will rarely gain a good insight into anything.

How is it you know who is reporting you? Are you saying these are not anonymous?

Or even that they were reported.  Ebay doesn't share that information if there were to be any.  Just because a listing gets removed does NOT mean someone reported it.

I figured it was something more to it. Any type of cleaning product I've listed been reported regardless of how low I listed it for. I admit I had posted some higher afterwards because of frustration of the lower cost ones being reported that weren't even going against any of the policies but still not nearly as high as the others! It's gotten ridiculous because on the home page of Ebay there's a suggesting button for cleaning products yet they get pulled no matter HOW low you list them for. Isn't that false advertising?

I don't think it's fair to list two cans of Lysol Spray for $51, either, but people try it anyway. *shrug*

The question remains, how do you KNOW you were reported?  I think you are assuming that.

Once Ebay dings you on something, your account is flagged to be watched.  So that is likely why subsequent listings were closed because Ebay has already told you not to list them or risk sanctions.  That is typically what the email says in a nutshell.

Are the products you are selling on the Do Not List  list?

If they are not, perhaps you should email (or FaceBook or tweet) eBay and ask if there is possibly a vendetta against you by an unhappy customer or by a competitor.

I'm not usually paranoid, my tinfoil hat keeps me safe, but it could be useful.

Why would you assume I'm profiting off of scared people? This kind of assumption has gotten way out of hand. The feedback (messages) appear to be people of sound mind very aware of their transaction and highly pleased. No one is told what to spend their money on and I don't break the bank for sure with my little $4-$20 profit.    (depending if it's in bulk)

Besides, I told you that was the auction it ended at so apparently it seemed fair to them

I guess any auction price that ends that high is 'fair' to desperate people. You are in here complaining about price gougers while doing the same yourself.
