Package most likely lost by post office, eBay refunded the buyer and took my proceeds!?????

I sold a $400 item, the buyer opened a case because they never received the item, it was shipped next day with all the tracking and seems to be stuck in the USPS system most likely lost,  but eBay awarded the buyer their refund and took my sales proceeds.

So I call eBay they say that Im covered by seller protection. After weeks of my appeal they declined it.... What is this non sense??

Question:  If this package is "stuck" in the USPS system, then had it even reached the Ebay Hub for international processing?

A new day.

A new month.

Still we do not know ................... if this was an eIS sale, or if it was not an eIS sale 🤔

With the international shipping program it most definitely is covered.

That detail would have been nice to know in post #1 rather than post #46.   It's easy to criticize others trying to help when only you know the details and all we can do is offer rules based on the scant details offered.  We should stop immediately trying to help when questions are ignored by OPs that would help solve their problems.

I begin to believe that at least 80% of the time, people who post like this just want to rant and  and to enjoy their anger.  They do not want facts, information, or assistance.

We know it was an "eBay International" sale. We do not know if it was eIS or eISD. We can make an educated assumption it was eBay International Standard Delivery because OP's sales from 3 weeks ago offer direct international shipping. Sadly they offered USPS Priority International and it seems the OP downgraded to EISD.

We can make an educated assumption it did not reach the hub because it is "stuck in the USPS system" and if it made it to the hub it would no longer be with USPS - it would have been transferred to another carrier by now.

With EISD seller has up to $100 included PIP insurance unless they purchased additional insurance with ShipCover or U-Pic (file claim here).

Posting the eISD policy for @northwestnirvana 's reference:

Person A: What's the value of 2 + 2 + X?

Person B: Can you tell me the value of X?

Person A:  No, you have to answer the question based on the info you have.

Person B: Answer is [value 1] if X is this or [value 2] if X is that.

Person A: YOU ARE WRONG. It's [value 3] because X is neither of those.

Is it person B's fault they didn't psychically read person A's mind?

Re: Package most likely lost by post office, eBay refunded the buyer and took my proceeds!?????

USPS insurance is not worth it. In my 15 years of ebay. I have lost less than 10 packages with USPS in well over 50,000 shipments. I would have spent 10's of thousands on insurance to get money back on just 10 lost items. That being said it most likely will show up, just keep an eye on the tracking and once it is delivered ask the buyer nicely if they will pay for it or send it back. It's about 50-50 if they will comply if not file a dispute on the case outcome and ebay and they will refund your money. I have had items show up after 30 days in a few cases, most of the time it is just in some carriers truck under the seat or something.
