So I've been using the managed payments since December. I really don't like it, mainly because I don't understand how Ebay tabulates your final payout amount from a sale. Can someone please explain this to me?
Here are the numbers from the latest Payout I received from a sale --
Maybe there is something I'm missing... I'm sure there is but I don't know what. I am really confused.
I sold at item for:
79.95 + 8.99 shipping = total of sale 88.94
Sales tax buyer paid on the sale was $6.00
Total buyer paid for item $94.94
_______________
My fees for the sale were:
final value fee $12.21
Ad fee $.80
shipping label $8.00
_______________
Payout amount I received: $63.38
How does this make sense? I'm not understanding this, please explain.
This is what I thought I would be receiving:
88.94 (total sale)
-12.21 (FVF)
- .80 (ad fee)
- 8.00 (shipping label)
= $67.93
How does this work?
Thank You

Ok great that sounds good, however when I look at the Payout Details nothing is broken down nor are any numbers shown at all -- except the payout amount. Am I looking in the wrong place?
I went to >
Seller Hub > Payouts > Payout ID (for this transaction) then I clicked on the ID number ...
all it shows is
Detail Section
Type
ID
Payment Method
Payout Summary
Received Funds: $63.38
Funds on Hold: $0
Funds Released: $0
Payment Amount: $63.38
That's it. No breakdown of any numbers.

In the sellers hub, I hover on Payments, and click on "Payouts"
Then click on the "Payout" that I wish to view. Circled in the example
That opens the "payout", and displays ALL the transactions involved in that payout. This one shows 3 shipping label deductions, and the selling price (including shipping) , fvf deduction, and net for 3 items sold.

That's really strange. When I do that in my seller hub, there is a big section right below the "Detail Section" and "Payout summary" that says "Related transactions" which shows a list of detailed line items with the date, description, gross amount, fees, and net amount of each. (There's even a tiny picture of the item):

I think one is under payouts (what goes to the bank) and the other is under All Transactions which has the details for individual sales. Both choices are under Payments.

I finally figured it out. Thanks to everyone's help 😆
What I DID NOT realize was that the payout amount included deductions from OTHER sales (not just THIS one sale) 🙄. So.... the amount ebay was paying me for this sale was correct, BUT they were deducting shipping labels, ad fees, etc. from other sales I had within the last couple days.
Sheesh, if I had known this would have all made sense.
I had no idea because I've only ever been paid for one sale at a time, this payout included deductions from 2 other sales.
Very confusing 😖 ... and so it remains ... I don't like their managed payments system.

It's 2023 now and I am equally confused. I cannot figure out what they are deducting. I wish they would simplify the process by keeping a running account ledger or something similar.

They have simplified it just look at one of your order details everything is there fore you.
