So I've been using the managed payments since December. I really don't like it, mainly because I don't understand how Ebay tabulates your final payout amount from a sale. Can someone please explain this to me?
Here are the numbers from the latest Payout I received from a sale --
Maybe there is something I'm missing... I'm sure there is but I don't know what. I am really confused.
I sold at item for:
79.95 + 8.99 shipping = total of sale 88.94
Sales tax buyer paid on the sale was $6.00
Total buyer paid for item $94.94
_______________
My fees for the sale were:
final value fee $12.21
Ad fee $.80
shipping label $8.00
_______________
Payout amount I received: $63.38
How does this make sense? I'm not understanding this, please explain.
This is what I thought I would be receiving:
88.94 (total sale)
-12.21 (FVF)
- .80 (ad fee)
- 8.00 (shipping label)
= $67.93
How does this work?
Thank You

You pay the FVF %age on the entire amount paid by the buyer to include selling price, shipping paid by the buyer if any, and sales tax paid by the buyer if any.
Total buyer payment $XXX
Minus FVF %age -$XXX
Minus label cost -$XXX
Minus ad fee -$XXX
Payout amnt +$XXX

Too late to edit:
Minus FVF %age -$XXX Clicking on "transaction" on Payments tab will show how much this amount was
Clicking on "payout" on the Payments tab will/should provide a breakdown of what was in the "payout"

Transaction on payments tab shows this:
shipping label: -8.00
Ad fee: -.80
Sale for Order # : 88.94 (amount) minus 12.21 (fees) = 76.73
So... I would figure it this way
76.73 - .80 - 8.00 = 67.93
If this is incorrect could you show me the breakdown on the numbers that I am not seeing?
I would appreciate it, I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out what I'm missing
Thank You!

Not sure what the deal is, but for my "payouts" I can hover on "Payments", click on "payout" and see what was included in that payout.
That $4.55 had to go someplace, and it should show somewhere.

Yes I agree. They are showing the numbers that were deducted, however my payout amount does not jive with these numbers. I thought it was just me, but it's just not making any sense. I hope someone else jumps in and can figure this out. 🤔

When I look at one of mine:
Total sale -- $25.4
- FVF -- $3.22
- Sales tax -- $1.7
My payout -- $20.48
My shipping label expense was a separate line deduction not included in the above number.

@shes*a*beauty sales tax collected from the buyer on your behalf could be where that additional $ went?

If sales tax was included why didn't eBay include this number as a deduction? Also, is the seller responsible for the buyers sales tax? To clarify, am I as the seller paying a fee for any sales tax the buyer is responsible for? I don't understand that...

Sales tax is definitely added to the total sale paid for by the buyer and definitely deducted from the payout to me. Ebay is responsible for remitting it to the appropriate state on my behalf. We do pay a fee for the sales tax which is part of the fvf total.

If ebay is also charging me based on the sales tax the buyer paid, why are they not including these numbers on the breakdown?
Here's what my transaction page says:
Minus FVF %age -$12.21
Minus label cost -$8.00
Minus ad fee -$.80
So.... if sales tax is included where is it?

Your 12.55% fee is on the entire $94.94 buyer payment. That is the $12.21 you have accounted for.
The $6 sales tax is not, and should not be seen in your $88.94 . It can be seen by clicking on the blue $xx.xx total on the order.
Your #'s all look good except for where that other $4.55 went.
Did you click on "payout" to see all the #'s ($$$)
Not sure if viewing a "report" would help. (found by hovering on Payments)

@shes*a*beauty wrote:Transaction on payments tab shows this:
If you want to know what was amounds were included in the PAYOUT, you need to look at the PAYOUT detail, not the transaction detail.
It is a lot easier to just look at your payout detail than it is to try to reconstruct what might be in it by looking at your transaction detail.
Your payout might include other amounts besides this transaction - other transactions, insertion fees, store fees, shipping labels, refunds, UPS or Fedex surcharges, etc.
What does you payout detail show?
