Hello everyone,
I received an order but requested the buyer to cancel it due to unavoidable reasons. But he already tried to cancel it. But when he tried to cancel it, he got an error. He wants to cancel this. If I cancel this on my end, it will affect my eBay seller performance, so I am reluctant to do so. What should I do for this?
Thank you.

YOU need to take the hit for it...it is YOUR fault not your buyer's.
It is YOUR problem.

Did you want to cancel it or did the buyer ask to cancel it?

If the buyer wants to cancel because YOU can't fulfil their order then yes, YOU have to cancel as out of stock or damaged and take the hit.

If I do that, won't it affect my account?

This is one of the dangers of drop shipping. As others stated you need to cancel as being out of stock. The buyer cannot cancel an order.

You will get a defect, but since you are drop shipping, your account will not stay open much longer.

"Your return policy" claiming buyers must pay for return shipping on defective items as stated in your listings contradicts ebay policy and ebay's money back guarantee. (You, the seller, pay for return shipping of damaged/defective items. You should know this.)
Posting such nonsense in ebay listings hurts everyone because it literally chases good customers away from ebay.

Customer cannot cancel this order (only seller). If you cancel order and give reason "buyer wants to cancel" you will not get a defect on your account.

Okay I will do like that
Thank You !

Buyers can NOT cancel a transaction. They never have been able to. They can only REQUEST a cancellation from a seller. It is up to the seller whether or not to grant it and the seller has to file for the cancellation. You have no choice in this if you want to cancel a transaction.

I will impact your performance metrics but that is one of the dangers of drop shipping. There are 100's of replies and comments on this forum about the dangers of drop shipping yet some sellers continue to do so.
