One of my listings limits the buyer to no more that 3 items per buyer. I have a listing with 53 of the same items available. A buyer should be able to buy as many as they want. If a buyer tries to buy more than 3 items they get a error page that says "Purchases are limited to 3 per buyer."
I looked over listing trying to revise it and see if I had something checked wrong but I can't find anything regarding limiting sales of an item. Help? what am I missing? I've never seen this before. One of my regular customers brought it to my attention. He said the listing has been this way for a long time. How can I correct this?
Thanks!

It is likely in your "buyer requirements" settings rather than in the listing itself.

There is a buyer block that says allow buyer to buy x number of items if their feedback is Y. Maybe it's that?

I thought of that but I used my personal eBay account with over 1500 feedback ratings and I can't buy any more than 3 of these items just like my customer says. I gotta be missing or not seeing something when I try to look through and revise my listing. Help!

Wouldn't that apply to all my listings? I can check, but I have other listings that a person can buy as many items as they want without any trouble. This seems kind of strange to me.

It would apply to all listings- buyers (new) have limits set by Ebay. There are a couple points in 'preferences' that you can limit 5 per week, 10 per week etc. so check that they are all clear.

Thanks, I'm still looking but so far finding nothing regarding limiting purchases. I've looked under site preferences and selling preferences to no avail. I don't see a buyer preferences link.

Site Preferences, then 'buyer preferences- click 'edit' on the far right of Buyer Preferences- then it opens up to many 'limitations' you can put. But, that would be across the board.
I'm also saying that ebay has limited new buyers to only be able to purchase X number of items, or X dollar amount for a X period of time until they are proven to be a legit buyer. This, you have no control over.

Go to Site Preferences.
The second Section is called Selling Preferences
The 8th section under Selling Preferences is called Buyer Requirements.
To the right of Buyer Requirements is a button that says Edit. Click on the edit button.
This screen will appear.
The fourth setting in this section says:
If you make any changes, make sure you click on the SUBMIT button or it will not be applied.

Hi, here is the link to Buyer Requirements policy page. There is a link there that takes you directly to your Buyer Requirements section in Site Preferences.

Hi, just to clarify, there is no "Buyer Preferences" under Site Preferences. I believe you meant Buyer Requirements.
You are right about eBay having limits on new sellers, although this seller is an established member since 1999. (But if they had started a new account, it could possibly have had limits.)
