I have been watching a few ebay groups and it has been suggested that making offers to buyers may help increase sales. I decided to make some offers to buyers. I did notice that my sales did increase but the problem is that these "buyers" are not paying. These so called buyers have maybe 3 feedbacks or less so the chances of getting paid are slim to none. I still do not understand why ebay does not allow the sellers to choose immediate payment for all transactions from Auctions, buy it now or best offers. By giving buyers a chance to change their mind and not pay is a very bad practice. Typical ebay.

I use this feature and never had a customer not pay right away.

I have "best offer" on over 90% of my listings right now. I don't feel that I need or should send offers to watchers. I rather let the shopper send offer if they are truly interested.
I have seen that some shoppers want to work through e-mail for an agreement on price. I don't play that game! That is why a shopper and seller is allowed up to 4 negotiations to come to a sale agreement.
Sellers also need to keep in mind that there are shoppers that are probably playing the game with multiple sellers on best offer for a specific item. I would like to see an immediate payment requirement as you stated. Either the buyer has the funds via PayPal balance, PayPal credit, or credit card.

Consider yourself lucky. I am waiting 6 days now on 4 buyers that have not paid me

Six days? Time to file an Unpaid Item Dispute to either get paid, or your FVF credited (and the buyers get a strike on their accounts).

I use the send offers out quite a lot and I think some people do not realize they did not pay. So after about a day I send out a payment reminder which gets them to pay 99% of the time. After a few days without payment you just need to open an unpaid item case.

I don't have any issues getting paid, but most of my offers goes without any response.

I offer to buyers as well , and when they don't pay right way. I just send them a friendly message to kindly pay for item purchase and it had work they pay right away. best of sells to you!

This is one of the many annoying loose ends ebay has to fix.
There is no reason whatsoever to not require immediate payment, if that is the setting on the seller's listing.
Buyer makes an offer, if seller accepts the offer, the deal should be done. Don't make an offer if you have no intentions to buy.
Same if the offer originates from the seller.
Counter, ignore or accept but when buyer accepts, the deal should be done.

I am new, and I have done this about 80 times on my different listings I would estimate, sent an offer to my "watchers" in the last 3 months. Not one responded to my offer. The only response I got was after the 48 hour offer period expired, a few days later some one messaged me and asked if I would give him the former offer price I had, which I did. I am no longer tempted by Ebay to make offers to my watchers as I found that it is a total, and I mean total waste of my time and anticipation. I figure now, people do not like being solicited with offers, and would rather buy something outright or initiate making an offer themselves, so I am putting more "best offer" options on more of my listings.

I think eBay should make the ACCEPT OFFER the same as BUY IT NOW, so technically, the item is not sold until paid for. Just my 2 cents. Although thankfully, I only had one NPB in the past two months.

They tried the offer valid until paid for and it caused a huge amount of problems with good buyers who won something in the middle of the night and it was sold out from under them. Im not even sure it’s legal to violate a sales agreement like that. It was running off good buyers for the small percentage of nopays.
if a seller sends an offer that is accepted by the buyer it should be IPR. I am not going to give EBay access to my credit card to pay an offer I make that’s is accepted by the seller. If that ever becomes a thing, many good buyers will walk. Keep in mind I’ve spent over $600k here and NEVER had a UID filed against me.
If these offers are not working for you, stop using them. Don’t destroy the payment process for the 98% of buyers who do what they're supposed to.
