Offer for Fixed Price 30 Day

I got a promotion:  Special offer: get 100 extra free fixed priced listings!
I let it sit because I REFUSE to use GTC.  I'm only going to use Auction Style... and I've already started plans to start selling ELSEWHERE because I'm that angry they took away 30 day fixed price.
Then on the last day I noticed the subtext.

Special offer: get 100 extra free fixed priced listings!
Offer valid for fixed price listings with 30-day or Good Til Cancelled duration.

I thought... YAY, they listened to us, they brought back 30-day duration.  I clicked Accept.

...and can't list 30-day duration.  The software forced me into Good Til Cancelled.

Now I'm more angry than ever.   They offered me something and pulled it away like Lucy holding a football for Charlie Brown, and I fell for it.  I feel dirty just for having clicked "Accept" on the offer.
I'm not listing GTC though.  I'd rather take all my merchandise and burn it, that's how angry I am at eBay.

AS normal Ebay just sends things out without them being proof read by somebody who cares.  Many of these emails and offers are also outsourced now so as usual with Ebay, they are getting the quality work that they pay for.

Re: Offer for Fixed Price 30 Day

Its another glitch where the e-mails being sent out don't match current policy. I agree, its upsetting. As much as their profits increased last quarter you'd think they could give the IT department enough resources to keep the site up-to-date.

All you can really do is call and report the glitch. Hopefully, they will assign some resources to update the site.

Re: Offer for Fixed Price 30 Day

If you do not like it just don't accept it. You could though instead accept it and then cancel after 29 days. Ebay give you a choice to let it ride or cancel. Good luck elsewhere.

Re: Offer for Fixed Price 30 Day

You're not following... I accepted it because IT SAID it was offering 30 day listings.
Then I was unable to DO 30 day listings.

Re: Offer for Fixed Price 30 Day

Meanwhile, I'm using my 100 free listings in the current promo, knowing eBay made a mistake using an old email/message/promo template, and that there are no eBay fixed price listings any longer.

The outrage over a gift here is just sad.

Re: Offer for Fixed Price 30 Day

It's not a gift. It's a scam to get listing fees out of me.  It would only be a gift if they weren't going to charge me 30 days later when the listings automatically relist.  I don't want that kind of a gift.

Re: Offer for Fixed Price 30 Day

Frankly I don't even think eBay should HAVE listing fees.  They have Final Value Fees.  That's enough for them to be billionaires many times over. They shouldn't charge fees on the shipping value either, but they do.  When all the fees are paid, it's a miracle sellers have anything left over.

Re: Offer for Fixed Price 30 Day

They did give you 30 days for FREE. It's up to you if you choose to let it ride. Ebay allows you to cancel if you do not want to let it ride.

It is a gift, a 30 day gift.  If you don't want to use it, then don't.  If you do want to use it, list it and then cancel it 29 days later.  I guess I just do not understand the outrage.  eBay is certainly NOT the only company that give out a free 30 day promo that automatically starts to charge if you do not cancel before the end of the 30 day period.

Re: Offer for Fixed Price 30 Day

It's not a gift because what they're counting on is that I miss the deadline to cancel and they clock me with fees.  Gifts don't require you to do things to avoid getting clocked with fees.

I said what I'd rather do, not what I would do.  I'll sell elsewhere.
