Now That October Is Over, How Much Were You Down? Worst Month?

A lot of people say October was the worst month this year, I am in that boat. I think eBay would agree, especially after they sent out those $5 off coupons last week.

What about you? Was this the worst month? How much were you down? If not October, which month was your worst?

I was down 47% last month, by far my worst this year.

Exactly! One needs to look past the man and look at the results.

Yes, almost totally dead for me, virtually no “traffic” as far as I can tell. Promoting doesn’t do much either.

I suspect "promoted listings" .....are we being forced lower in search due to large volume sellers offering to pay more in commissions????????????

Perhaps the extra $$ offered by large volume sellers in commissions to eBay through "promoted listings" is the cause.....thereby lowering all other sellers listings in search????

Radical  partisans won't do that  because it serves their own personal agenda not to  . The thing Trump said about one woman happened 20 years before he ever thought about getting into politics.  Furthermore he said nothing that a million other men haven't  said . Left wing women  proudly  paraded through the streets  dressed as huge female sex organs  as if  they were saying  that is all women are worth .This didn't help the image of women  like they hoped for ,, it just made the ones who participated a laughing stock.  Yet the left cheered  that   fiasco and  continued on with their  fake outrage over words said years ago. Things have been steadily declining, so I didn't bother to put any effort into eBay. I moved my listings to another app/site and the sales were instantly better.

Re: Now That October Is Over, How Much Were You Down? Worst Month?

I had a pretty good October, particularly the latter half.  But I am a hobby seller of niche items so my sales don't have the same pattern as "serious" sellers listing hundreds or thousands of items.

Soooo many of my October sales were to international buyers!  Often buying multiple items to save on shipping costs.  I highly recommend selling internationally (and not via GSP), especially if you're selling collectibles.

(If you're selling microwaves that don't have the right plug to work in Europe then, yeah, probably doesn't make sense to sell those internationally, ha ha.)

I agree-- a lot of my collectibles go abroad.  Just shipped one to Australia last week, and another one to a reshipper to go to Japan.

Re: Now That October Is Over, How Much Were You Down? Worst Month?

Across other platforms our sales have been going up and pretty steady.  eBay however is down 57% on our main account and an average of 42% across all 5 accounts... November is looking even worse.  We were doing very well, on a major up swing the beginning of October but once the 15th hit it has been down hill ever since with no relief in sight.  Our main account has been hit with no less than 8 bugs during this time frame as well outside of item specifics issue. We keep working but are not seeing a return on our investment in eBay. There is eBays truth which to them there is no problem and then there is reality which is they have created the problem and accept no responsibility for it.  I am under the belief that we do not have an ETA for the item specific issues because eBay has no clue how they are going to actually fix it.  They build new bugged coding on old bugged coding and expect it to function flawlessly. 3 weeks with still no fix and no ETA does not bode well and a quick scan of these discussion posts shows how many sellers have been affected and have had additional bugs pop up due to this.  eBay will not compensate anyone because they know it will cost them a fortune and they know that many of us won't be going anywhere no matter what level of hell they open upon us...

Under 3 U.S. Code § 102, the president's annual salary is $400,000.

For the past two years, Trump has donated his salary to government agencies, during a televised press briefing with Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
