Not being able to list new items after years on ebay

I have been listing items on Ebay for years now and have 1028 positive feedbacks and no negatives. I sell used items to compensate my disability income. I have been very happy to have this income from Ebay until a few months ago when Ebay decided to drop Paypal  as a Payment option and required me to open a bank account to be able to be paid. They stopped my ability to list anything more until I met their requirements. I am disabled and live in a rural area of my state This is not an easy task. I have tried to jump their hoops but to no avail.

Phone contact is almost pretty much the next biggest hurdle I have faced. I read I have until March [?]  or May  [?] to meet their requirements but they will not let me list anything, anyways. This is a complete nightmare. Is there any solutions out there for people that have issues that they cannot solve without climbing a mountain [which is almost impossible? Please help me!

eBay just sealed their demise by instituting this néw rule simply out of greed $.

I seriously doubt it. The sellers who can't or won't comply are a tiny drop in the bucket.

Re: Not being able to list new items after years on ebay

eBay's move to MP is nothing new. eBay is a selling venue and like any other such platform can and does set its own payment system/rules/policies.Other selling venues also have this and/or similar payment systems. There are many small, lesser known sites that still offer sellers the ability to use PayPal only and/or a banking system.

Each selling venue has its payment system/rules/policies and sellers either agree to use or move on. That is the way it is with any selling venue: sellers agree to terms of service/terms of use/rules/policies OR move on and go elsewhere = Seller's choice...

According the terms of the CapitalOne account I happened to Google, there is no minimum initial deposit. But I expect it actually requires some amount, like $1.

https://www.capitalone.com/bank/checking-accounts/online-checking-account/disclosures/

360 CHECKING DISCLOSURE
Initial Deposit Requirement – There is no minimum deposit required. You can open the account with any amount you wish up to the max allowed.

But again, this was just an example. I use a different bank and I created a free checking account that also required no meaningful initial deposit; I think I deposited $25.

eBay will die a slow death due to this new rule.  They just want $.

People have posted here proclaiming that eBay will die for various reasons for the past 20 years now. And when they do, it is generally offered as a statement with no supporting evidence other than a biased agenda.

eBay began requiring sellers into Managed Payments last year, and the last statistic I read months ago was that 20% of all eBay's transactions were being done via Managed Payments.

For all of 2020 merchandise volume was up 17%, revenue was up 19%, and active buyers grew 7%. The corresponding numbers in Q4 were even better than the full year numbers - indicating an upward tick, not a slow death.

That poster is angry that eBay may issue a 1099k, because the poster believes that income from selling used items is not subject to income tax.

Not that that has anything to do with MP, but there it is.
