Not able to list items - Receive error message

I've been inactive for a number of years, but trying to post some items for sell. It keeps saying "we've encountered an error on our end, please try later"

I never had any issues with my account, and simply stopped listing.

Re: Not able to list items - Receive error message

Have you gone into your account settings and made sure everything is up to date?

Account Settings (ebay.com)

Is your Managed Pay all setup and ready to go?

With such a long break from selling, your payments will be subject to 14 or more days hold. This is for new or returning sellers that have not sold in past 90 days.

I certainly have no problem paying this, but it clearly says nothing is due.  It says the $4.54 is "new activitiy"?  Nothing showing on any recent invoices.  Nothing has been listed yet?itsyourgifts_0-1697245853564.png

Re: Not able to list items - Receive error message

Many things have changed over the last few years.  If you haven't stayed on top of the changes it could be the reason you are having issues.   While you may not think the links I'm going to give you below are anything you need, I'd say that it is worth your time to look through them carefully because of changes especially in the last 3  years.

Please review the below link carefully. It contains very important information as to how Ebay needs to see the information you provide them on your account. It is likely easier to change your Ebay account to match your bank account if you find there to be a difference.

Re: Not able to list items - Receive error message

I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service.  Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is.  Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message.  It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://twitter.com/askebay

https://www.facebook.com/eBay/

https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/

Your options will be on the left.  If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options.  Not all options are available 24/7.  It will depend on staffing available.  So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't.  Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me.  If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

Re: Not able to list items - Receive error message

Do you have a Managed Payments account set up yet?

Don't try to list until you do.

EBay needs your SSN and bank info to be able to transfer your customer payments to your checking account.

This happens on Tuesdays, by default.

But.

Until you reestablish yourself as a competent seller, your payments will be Held for up to 30 days against your customer service.

You can use the Held funds to pay for shipping labels, and that can still be used  as a check that the money is actually paid.

And you also, as a returning seller, have restrictions on the number and value of the listings you can make.

For example, if your restrictions are $100 or 10 items, you can list 10x $10 or  one $100 listing.

There's more.

Take your time.

That clearly says your account is on hold for nonpayment........but the invoice time is Jan 2023, so don't know if that's current or not........

What happens if you click on the "GO" button in the Total Fees and Payment window?

Re: Not able to list items - Receive error message

I haven't sold anything since before 2019.  Every invoice that I can look back on shows that I owe $0.00.  I was on ebay in 2019 to make a purchase (with no issues).  I wasn't on ebay again until yesterday.    Down on the bottom left it also shows that this $4.54 charge is new activity, and  right above that shows amount due as of 10/13/2023.

I've tried making contact with someone "in the know" but not having much luck.

I should of also mentioned I've tried making the payment and this is what happens.

Nothing changes.  It just gives this same information no matter how many times I click go.

We can't help you with this here.  You need to talk to Ebay directly.

Re: Not able to list items - Receive error message

Since it's been a number of years since you've sold on eBay, my first question would be whether or not you're set up with Managed Payments.

Is the "someone in the know" an eBay employee? If so, hope you found him/her on social media for eBay.

The "someone in the know" are all links directly off of ebay, and also the links that was provided by a previous poster on this thread.
