Not a question, just a rant

I’m in the process of selling my collection of Hallmark and Enesco Christmas ornaments. Last week I had a sale which the address was one of those freight forwarders in Delaware. I had a real bad feeling about it but proceeded with shipping. Yesterday I got a message from eBay saying they’d cancelled that sale because of a problem with the buyer’s account. I looked into intercepting the delivery but it’s a $17.50 fee which was more than the total of the entire transaction so it makes no sense to go through with that. I had that happen to me several years ago too. So my question (but not a question) is, why doesn’t eBay vet these people’s payment methods before they let them buy? From now on, I’m cancelling sales to these freight forwarders out of Delaware.

Millions of packages go thru freight forwarders with no problem.  Ebay canceled the sale because of the BUYER......and will let you keep the $$...........at least that's the normal process........

Yeeaah, do not try to intercept the delivery.  That would be an unnecessary expense and it would be purely your own choice to spend it.   Certainly eBay is not suggesting that you take that action.

eBay should be refunding you because eBay cancelled the sale.

I would not recommend that you cancel any future sales that include a shipping address to a freight forwarder in Delaware.  From eBay's point of view, that's not a valid reason not to ship to an address within the United States, and would most likely give you a defect on your selling record.  Too many defects can result in permanent suspension.

My selling ID has shipped many sales to freight forwarders in Delaware, a couple in Oregon, and even one in Montana, eventually going to a western province of Canada.  I've never had a problem in the slightest.  You just got one bad apple of a buyer.

You are fine.  Please do not worry.  I've had many of those messages over the years from Ebay and ALWAYS well after I've shipped the item.  In all my years and with all these notifications I've received, the transaction was never a problem for me.  The buyer never filed a claim or even contacted me with any issue at all.

When Ebay sends these, they DO NOT refund or even hold your money for the transaction.  So don't worry about it.  You are actually ahead of the game.  As Ebay refunds your FVFs when they send these emails.

As for Freight Forwarders.  I know that there are a handful of sellers that frequent the boards with very scary stories about **bleep** and they are vocal on the threads.  Please keep in mind that the vast majority of transactions with a buyer that uses an FF go off without a hitch.

So all in all, you are just fine.  I know Ebay scared you, but you are fine and so is your money.

Got 1 of those emails a couple years ago.

I got paid, buyer received their item and didn't have any problems.

Have a great day.

I had tons of packages go through this process never had a problem ever.

If ebay canceled - ebay  will pay you.  Do not cancel anything on your part  with your shipping.

Why would Ebay pay you if you have no issues on the transaction?

The buyer paid you, you shipped and you never hear from the buyer again.  I'm not sure what there is to "pay" the seller.
