No thanks eBay, I don't need a sale

Actual question this morning on an item fixed price, no best offer option - "Can I get a better price?"

Based on the screenshot below, no better price, no reply, yes BBL. It is almost always someone with this kind of FB left who wants a low price. I sell almost nothing on eBay lately, but that's OK. I neither need nor want this kind of buyer.

Wow this must be the day for this sort of thing.  I had someone send me a $3 offer on $25 item.  Thinking I might counter at 10%,  I looked at their feedback they had left and it was similar to what you posted.  I didn't even bother to counter.  I just declined it and then blocked them.

Ha! That would be fun, but likely more wise to simply not interact with this type of buyer at all.

This is very true.

Someone with no moral compass doesn't play by the same rules as everyone else. 20 Years ago I engaged in communication with types like that, and found out pretty quickly that some of those types will do almost anything to "get back at you" for not accepting their offer (and catching what they're up to).

That wasn't all of them. There were at least 10 more.

Re: No thanks eBay, I don't need a sale

The sad thing is that eBay has all of the data and doesn't care. If you define active buyers as having "at least n number of transactions" and the average buyer has perhaps 0.4% problems with items purchased, it would be easy to identify bad buyers as those whose "problem rate" is some multiple of average. In your example, you could assume this buyer has tons of INRs filed or maybe doesn't file INR, but just tries to get sellers to send additional items or refunds. There are surely buyers who file INAD at much higher rates than average buyers. I'd say exceeding a certain threshold means you aren't unlucky, you are a scammer or a terrible buyer.

Some buyers just don't realize how leaving negative FB repeatedly affects their chances of offers being rejected. They get so caught up with anger and wanting that last word, which is what feedback is. It should work as a relief of some sort for those sellers who fret over getting their first negative. Here you can see how it affects the buyers as well. They can get their comeuppance too....

And having the 'last word' is highly over-rated.

This is why I like having best offers On.

The bad buyers always wanting a better deal, so you can investigate them and block.

With it off. You are just stuck with them.

GJ catching this.

Yep. I sell buy it now only and if I do get a questions I always look at feedback left for others and then if that feedback looks atrocious they are blocked. FOREVER.
