Hi. I'm a small seller; only 500 or so items right now. I've been selling about 2 plus items weekly for about a year. But all of a sudden, I'm not getting any sales. It started last week. Is something going on with small sellers? Was there a change in the algorithm? Should I contact eBay?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Peggy

Same here.... my sales started going down in May of 2023 and have never recovered. My monthly sales used to be between $ 1,200 and $ 1,500 per month.... this was consistent throughout the year with minimal ups and downs depending on the season.... my total for this month (June to date) is $ 136. This is an all time low for me.... I've NEVER had a month this bad since I started selling on eBay.
I haven't had a sale since June 15th.

Many of us smaller sellers are experiencing a slowdown. I just had my slowest weekend in over 10 years and two of my lowest weekly payouts as well. It is probably a few different factors, including just the time of the year, but clearly discretionary spending is slowing down as inflation continues, especially in areas such as housing and insurance as the intertwined FIRE sector (Financial, Insurance, Real Estate) continues to extract its toll by increasing the percolation of capital upwards. The time of the year is a factor as people try to finance their vacations.

like ci1000, my sales also dropped off May of 2023.
April, May and June of this year I have had two orders a month I am convinced the economy has gotten so bad that it is not going to recover anytime soon. And I don't think the election will make any difference either.
Hope I am wrong but only time will tell.

Usually July is slow for us. We just take the time to re-evaluate inventory, pricing, and get ready for Fall. It is frustrating, but this year has hit pocketbooks hard. Increases have been seen across the board from Groceries to Insurance. Hang in there and try and enjoy the Sunshine. Holidays are coming.
We already saw Christmas displays at the Craft stores.
Have a good day.

One way to find out is what were your sales like this time of year say: 4 or 5 years ago 🤔

2 plus sales a week
all of a sudden since last week
-------------------------------------------------
as posted............ could be the time of year........... people busy vacation, whatever
but realistically you do not have enough data to base anything upon
talking a drop from 2 plus sales provides nothing to go on to draw any firm conclusions.
now, ............. if you were talking 200, or 2000 dropping to nothing................ then an issue likely, but 2 plus ?
are you getting impressions? any views?
contacting eBay would result in nothing but some encouragement, and double talk
--------------------------------
you had 6 sales last week

Not sustainable for most sellers
The Christmas season comes but once a year !
Low activity - requires action now

I wasn't here 4-5 years ago. Joined 3/31/2022. Had 231 orders starting 3/3 of that year. In 2023 had 141 orders and so far this year, 44 orders. So if my math is right, about a 45% drop from my first year , and maybe a 65% drop from last year?

Retail goes in waves.
I find my slowest period is late November through Christmas, with sales zooming from Boxing Day (it's that precise) to March.
When I worked in retail B&M , we tried to set up contract appointments for Tuesdays, our slowest day, or at 2pm, our slowest hour.
This is consistent over some 40 years in sales, B&M and online.
With only a year of experience, it's hard to know what your wave will be like. Usually I tell concerned sellers to look at the same time period in 2023, 2022, and 2019 (because the pandemic surge in online buying was a two year outlier).
We can't do that with you.
All I can tell you is that listing more, or even pulling down slow movers and relisting them in a week, definitely makes a bump in sales, in my experience.

Sales do go in waves, But this is more of a Title wave or Tsunami that has washed away everything, This is not typical at all!, There is a problem much greater than the Greed fed Inflation!

I can go back every month for the past 10+ years and find "sudden slow sales" posts.
"It all started January of 2021."
"It all started June of 2022."
"It all started May of 2023."
"It all started June of 2024."

hundreds if not thousands of sellers complain about the same thing all year round every year
plus people are buying stolen items 😫 on the streets, those quick phone apps, craig's list, etc etc etc

You started on the crest of the pandemic wave, so your view is influenced by that. It makes it difficult in your case to trace a trajectory because you don't have sales data previous to the pandemic.
This year (2024) is only half way through, so it's inaccurate to compare to the entire year of 2023. Can you look at months?

Last year: Jan 23, Feb. 11, Mar. 8, Apr. 6, May 7, June 10, July 10, Aug. 10, Sept. 3, Oct. 8, Nov. 26 and Dec. 17 orders.
So far this year, Jan. 18, Feb. 11, Mar. 10, Apr,3, May 1 and June two orders.
2022 I didn't keep records by the month.
Below is a partial example of an excel file I use.
| I PAID | SELL PRICE | PACKING SLIP | SALES | GRAND | SHIPPING | BULK ITEM | MONTH | Date | # OF |
| SHIPPING $ | TAX | TOTAL | DISCOUNT | DISCOUNT | SOLD | ORDERS | |||
| $10.00 | $15.00 | $5.25 | $1.05 | $21.30 | January | 3 | |||
| $7.00 | $2.00 | $5.00 | $0.56 | $7.56 | January | 3 | |||
| $35.00 | $10.00 | $12.90 | $0.60 | $23.50 | January | 5 | |||
| $15.00 | $5.00 | $8.00 | $0.91 | $13.91 | January | 5 |
