@ten_o_nine That's been out for a little while now, it is in beta, and I gather is being rolled out to more buyers as time goes on. It seems the intent is to eventually include all buyers, but I think ebay has been clear that we won't get to that point until next year sometime.

Let's think about this a little bit.
to be a member / buyer, you have to be registered, correct?
Your personal information is already collected, and your preferred payment option / bank account to receive payment is confirmed, correct?
I don't understand the O.P. post. Why would a seller get that kind of notice? Buyer has pre-selected a payment method, so you will get paid now if you accept their offer.
My first guess is maybe this is to clean up the buyers who don't plan to ever pay and drag the seller for 4 days+ waiting for payment. If so, this is still not a fix. Buyers still have all those claim options after receiving.
I do see this as a work in progress / improvements to help sellers.

just to follow up
I received this message from eBay:
Now you can get paid faster when you set up your VISA or Mastercard debit card as a payout method. |

I don't get it! This is becoming another corporate money grab and it needs to stop.
Why should sellers pay extra to receive funds quicker when they are already forced ship items before receiving payment?

Interesting. I thought the beta test required that they list a payment method, but weren't required to pay immediately.

Nope. You can be a guest buyer.
Your personal information is already collected, and your preferred payment option / bank account to receive payment is confirmed, correct?
Not for everyone. Some people do not keep their payment information on file, and having one’s payment information on file does not equal a pre-authorization to pull the funds if the offer submitted is accepted.
I don't understand the O.P. post. Why would a seller get that kind of notice? Buyer has pre-selected a payment method, so you will get paid now if you accept their offer.
Because buyers had to manually pay AFTER their offer was accepted. Now the payment can be processed as soon as the seller accepts. My first guess is maybe this is to clean up the buyers who don't plan to ever pay and drag the seller for 4 days+ waiting for payment. If so, this is still not a fix. Buyers still have all those claim options after receiving.
Unpaid items and false claims are two different animals: the former is merely an inconvenience, the latter, a fraudulent action at best.
I do see this as a work in progress / improvements to help sellers.

On a schedule
Want to get paid faster? Set up your debit card as your preferred payout method for your scheduled payouts and get your funds in minutes, not days.*
On demand
If you’re on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly payout schedule, you can also request an express payout of all or part of your available funds on demand.* Your bank will typically make your funds available to you within 30 minutes.I don't get it! This is becoming another corporate money grab and it needs to stop.

PayPal had the same “money grab scheme”, it was just less apparent because people considered being paid once the funds hit their PayPal account, and the funds got there faster because PayPal fronted them.
