When you receive 10 feedback it will change to the
star system and show detailed seller ratings.
There are 12 different stars awarded by eBay to its users.
Which colored star your profile will display depends on
the number of feedback ratings that you have.
Here is a list of the different colored eBay stars and their meanings:
- Yellow star = 10 to 49 ratings
- Blue star = 50 to 99 ratings
- Turquoise star = 100 to 499 ratings
- Purple star = 500 to 999 ratings
- Red star = 1,000 to 4,999 ratings
- Green star = 5,000 to 9,999 ratings
- Yellow shooting star = 10,000 to 24,999 ratings
- Turquoise shooting star = 25,000 to 49,999 ratings
- Purple shooting star = 50,000 to 99,999 ratings
- Red shooting star = 100,000 to 499,000 ratings
- Green shooting star = 500,000 to 999,999 ratings
- Silver shooting star = 1,000,000 ratings or more

I have never given it much thought actually, but it will take time for you to bulid up purchases/sales and get feedback - New seller is not mentioned anywhere, so just don't worry about it.

You've been on ebay for about 2 weeks, so you are a new user. After a while and some more feedback it should disappear. It's nothing to be overly concerned about.

The yellow icon will appear for 30 days.
Any time you change your userid over the years the icon will reappear and stay for another 30 days. The only difference is that the info pop-up will say you changed your ID instead of saying you're a new user.

Click on the OP's FB page and click the little "i" info circle next to the icon- it's mentioned in the pop-up description.

The OP could get 10 seller FB today and the new seller icon would still be there. It will be there for 30 days no matter how much FB they accrue. The same thing happens when you change your userid- you get that icon stuck next to your ID for 30 days.

The colors of he feedback stars have nothing to do with the "New user" image.
