Multiple times now since I have been selling again the fees have gone up. Soon it will be at 15% and it is crazy. Let alone raising them but than NOT EVEN ALERTING SELLERS OF THE INCREASES. I didn’t even realize the increase from 12.9 to 13.25 until I looked in one of the total fees for a recent sale. I can’t believe that not alerting us of increases in fees isn’t illegal in some way. Who am I kidding, I’m sure there are a lot of things eBay does that are illegal. I have been using eBay for 20 years and I have gotten nothing in return but backstabbings and a eBay bucks system that stopped giving me rewards on anything 3 years ago.
Fee changes bother me because I price some tightly budgeted items accurately to shipping, item cost, and fees. Now things that were calculated at 12.5% and lower are messed up. The fees should not increase on already listed items.
Does anyone think they will ever fix their sneaky messed up fee ways?

It wasn’t even bolded on the app or showing as not read already on the app, which is the thing I use. And usually When a close member in your family dies a few days before that (and you don’t even go on eBay for a week) you tend to not see a message that is the same as all their other marketing emails in almost every way possible. And once I saw the newsletter today, they aren’t wrong legally, but like I said, it doesn’t mean they wanted to do what was best for the sellers and Do everything possible to let every single seller know. If they did, I would have known.
Pin it to the top of the messages and bold it, I’m sure everyone would see it then. I know I would’ve.
I'm sorry about your family member and it's understandable that eBay was a pretty low priority and you would miss some things, but eBay communicates with millions of sellers, and like every other communication it's done via email, message and announcement. I'm not sure what else they can do. If they bolded it you can bet someone would be complaining that they didn't use italics, too. I recall someone coming on here saying that eBay should have called everyone (though that was a while ago).
The announcement just came at a bad time.

The fee increase added ONLY 3.5 cents per $10.00 in sales. Nothing to lose sleep over.

When sellers choose to ignore emails from Ebay, then those sellers take a risk they are going to miss important information and really shouldn't blame Ebay for not knowing that something important to you changed.
It is a newsletter of sorts, but it is called a Seller Update, this last one was the Winter Seller Update. They come out about 3 times a year now and ANYTIME you see Seller Update in the title, you should NOT ignore that email. And it is sent out to all sellers, so you did get it sent to you, you may have decided to ignore it, but it was sent.
Reading an email from Ebay has nothing to do if a seller sells full time, part time or just occasionally.
Remember always read a Seller Update completely, not matter what size seller you are.

Best advice is to periodically read the ANNOUNCEMENTS on your Overview page to evade this syndrome.
PS Watch out I'm forecasting some day there will phones without cords real soon.
