I recently created a new account to sell items in a new category. Initially, I bought a few items to increase my feedback. Last Sunday, I tried to add my bank account to the account so that I can start selling. I was having trouble adding my bank account. It kept giving me the error message 'Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later.' I tried using different browsers, changing my ebay email address (suggested by someone else experiencing the same error) and using different bank accounts. Eventually, one bank account was accepted. I noticed I added the wrong bank account though and it was not an account I could make payments out of (I received micotransaction payments in the verification process but it wasn't automatically paid back). I had listed one item on the new account and I decided to end the listing given the issues with adding a bank account. Later on the same day, I received an email saying that my new account was hacked. The next day, Ebay sent an eBay Bid Cancellation Notice emails for the items I purchased in the past. 3 minutes later, it sent a MC999 suspension email:
"Your eBay account has been suspended because recent account activity has raised security concerns. We've taken this precaution to protect our members while we make sure that the activity doesn't cause harm--even unintentionally--to the eBay community.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to use eBay in any way. This includes using another existing account or registering a new account.
Any outstanding fees will be due immediately, and any amounts that you haven't previously disputed will be charged to the billing method currently on file."
At the same time, I was also sent a MC113 permanent suspension email:
"Your eBay account has been permanently suspended because we noticed activity that we believe is a risk to our community.
This means the following:
- You can’t buy or sell on eBay any longer. Any other accounts that you own or that are associated with this account have also been suspended.
- Outstanding selling fees are due immediately, and any amounts that you haven’t previously disputed will be charged to the payment method we have on file.
The safety of our community is a top priority for us, so our decision to permanently suspend your account is final and can’t be appealed. "
I have used Ebay Chat to talk to the agents but they won't give me any other information about my wrongdoing and I am unable to appeal the decision.
This suspension means my other selling account is also restricted and I cannot access funds for items I've already sold.
Anyone with similar experience to this?

Thousands have and I don't recall seeing that any were reinstated. Since eBay doesn't disclose the reason for suspension it's to hard to suggest any options for you.

"I recently created a new account to sell items in a new category."
You could use the same account to sell in multiple categories.

I recently created a new account to sell items in a new category.
If you had issues with an old account it carries over to new accounts. It can be the IP address associated with the account was flagged. If you owed fees or ever appeared to be involved in a scam eBay will not take the risk of allowing you on the playing field.

You are in Australia so you need to ask on the Australian boards. You will have had your account suspended because you have not signed up to managed payments.
The process is different in Austrlalia from the US, so please ask there now and someone will advise you how to sign up.

Were there any issues or restrictions on the other account(s)? ex. selling limits, selling restriction, Below Standard, money owed, high rate of returns, high rate of cases, shill bidding, etc? Did you new account ever try to bid or buy from your old account(s)?

I don't think they can access the boards if there is an MC113 suspension, not even to read.

Oddly enough, they are (apparently) able to access the boards to ask why they received an MC113 suspension.

My guess (and that is all it is, a guess) is that trying to use multiple bank accounts that all fail and then finally getting one that works but only in one direction was a big red flag causing eBay to shut you down. I would think eBay saw this as a fraudulent account being created to either harm buyers or to clean out other sellers bank accounts.
Once eBay says you are permanently suspended, it is over. I have never heard of a seller getting that decision reversed because they don't tell you details of the suspension and they don't give you any method to appeal.

No, haven't come close to selling limits, no selling restrictions, Above Standard selling level, around 2% rate of return, haven't done anything dodgy. More likely that there was an issue with my new account. Going from nothing to being permanently suspended...it's a bit ridiculous.

There is a seperate board for eBay Australia, may be why they are asking here.
